Not that it's a big deal, but it was kind of a surprise especially since his wife has been sharing all the details about it (where it's at, what date, what their daughter will wear, the pictures she had made and even the invitation proofs)... and also saying how much fun my DD will have there. It was supposed to be a pretty big party... I guess we just didn't make the cut.
Guess I should be happy it's one less present to buy?

What?? That seems so rude to make you a part of the party planning and then not invite you and your LO. Oh well, like you said it means one less present to buy. . .

Maybe it's small and mainly family? But I must say, it's tacky of her to talk about the party in front of you and then not invite you/your DD!

That's weird. Maybe they had to change the invite list and make it smaller due to budget. I have a friend that I'm waiting to see if I get an invite for her daughters party. I keep seeing them and want to ask about it but don't want to bring it up in case I'm not invited and it would make it awkward.... hope I'm not rejected too!

Wow, that's really rude that they talked about the party in front of you and then didn't invite you! Is it possible that you just haven't received your invitation yet or something since your boss's wife specifically mentioned how much fun your DD would have at the party??

that's weird. i wonder if something happened at the last minute, since clearly she intended for you and your DD to be there (with talking about how your DD would have so much fun). maybe they had to downscale, or your boss was worried that inviting you and not others in the workplace would be seen as favoritism?
