I thought this was the best line in the series finale of The Office.
What were your good ol' days? Did you know you were in them before you actually left them?

I think I am in the good ol' days now and am terrified they are going by too fast.

I don't know! I think grade 12 was the good old days that we thought/hoped would never end!
Right now is also pretty awesome, but I'm sure I won't realize how great it is until we're in a different phase! Always happens that way.. Andy knows what's up!

I'm not sure what the good ol' days are for me. The different stages of my life have all been good for different reasons. I think instead of looking back and thinking about how good it was back then, I'd rather focus on the good aspects of life of my life currently happening.

The 2 years after we got married and before we got pregnant was our good ol' days! There are other periods in my life that I reflect upon a lot as well.

The years I was living the dream backpacker life in London and Australia were my good ole days. I was age 25 to 29 at the time, single, footloose, and fancy free. I had a great job and enough time and money to go anywhere and everywhere - I travelled a ridiculous amount during that time and made some amazing friends.
I 100% knew those years were going to be my best years that I always looked back on with pride, happiness, and a tinge of sadness that they're over. Fortunately, as I knew how lucky I was at the time, I took full advantage of every opportunity presented to me and made the most of my time.
ETA: I love my life now and wouldn't trade it for the world but those years abroad were such a formative carefree time in my life.

Ahhhh, we just watched the series finale last night and that was my favorite line too!
My good ol days were definitely college and I knew I was in them at the time. You never have all your friends living within walking distance and have all your meals provided for you again Plus, dollar beers!

Oh, this is so, so true for me!! I suppose my ultimate "good old days" was the year I turned 23 (and al ittle before and after). I shared a house with great friends and my life revolved around parties and social events - I was somewhere different every night of the week! I look back on that time with such fondness, I have so many stories to tell and although I'm happy now I do often feel sad that those days are over. I really didn't realise at the time how special they were!
These days I'm a little terrified of every moment that passes - scared I'm going to blink and miss some more "good old days". I was obsessive during our wedding planning about taking pictures of every little thing we did, convinced we'd look back on that time fondly. I think maybe I was so focused on remembering it, I forgot to live it!!

Yes!! This line stuck out to me too - so much so that I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget it. I'm definitely in the good old days now, and need to keep reminding myself and savor ing every minute.
I was a big bawling mess throughout the whole office! I held it together until Michael showed up then it was all downhill from there

All Night DH kept complaining Andy was getting to much camera time, but had to admit that was the most poignant thing said on the episode.
Hard to say when you know. No one knew when the house market hit bottom until it started to recover. Wonderful and traggic things happen to people, which can sometimes divide up time. Self-reflection, and taking the time to take stock in what's going on in your life allows you to cherish the good old days before they past.
I remember visiting family one Christmas during the Clinton years. It was the first and only time ever I opened multiple gifts at someone else's home. I knew in that moment everyone was happy they could buy gifts for extended family. Everyone was merry and full of life. That space in time was a good old day.

@BoogieBea: I feel the same way. Life and marriage is so different with an LO. I've done my growing up and adapting but my husband hasn't. It's been the happiest time with the baby, but the hardest too in terms of our marriage.

I agree that was the best line. Made me tear up a little. It reminded me of what my great grandfather always used to say: "And we didn't know how much fun we were having."

Right now is the time I will look back on with fondness.
High school and college weren't that fulfilling or interesting to me. I worked my butt off, I had a full time job as an accounting analyst at a fortune 500 and I carried 18 credit hours (my scholarship covered 12-18 hours so I always took 18). I was beyond busy but it was worth it to graduate early without student loan debt.
I got engaged a month after graduation, married a year later and the whole time I was very focused on my career and now, with LO, we are all taking a step back from the rat race and enjoying the miracle of life and enjoying every smile, coo, squeal, cry, snuggle, etc. I know these days won't last forever, so I want to know that I took it all in and was the best mom and wife.

I think after uni when I was living with friends, loving working on a newspaper and going backpacking every summer were my good old days. But now A is here, I think we're creating new ones. My husband said that these, spending time with our awesome baby, are our good old days and I thought that was really sweet.
