What's your favorite iced coffee recipe?
I've been meaning to try this one by pioneer woman:

Usually I just brew coffee, add sugar before it gets cooled then stick it in the fridge!

I use the pioneer woman recipe and its awesome! I shared it with @adira a few weeks ago but not sure if she's tried it yet.
I used to just refrigerate a pot of brewed coffe but the PW recipe is worlds apart! EvenDH who is a man of little opinions raves about it.

ill have to try this. I tried to do a cold brew before and it didn't come out strong enough and I just gave up.

When I worked at DD as a teenager, we would use doeble the amount of coffee grounds with the same amount of water to account for dilution when ice melts. If I were to make it at home, I brew regular strength, melt sugar with hot coffee, and use coffee ice cubes so I don't worry about the strength going away It is rare that I make it though, especially when I can walk to McD's and get a Newman's Own organics for $1!

We cold brew in a French press overnight. We use almost twice the amount of beans we would normally use to brew hot coffee and grind them pretty coarsely. It sits for about 10-12 hours and we pour it over ice in the morning. When we are on the ball we make a couple of batches and store it in the fridge and it tastes better after chilling for 24 hours. If you like it sweet use a simple syrup, sugar doesn't dissolve well. It sounds like a bit of a pain but I swear the process is worth it, the coffee is smoother and less acidic this way.

@Cole: good call to use the french press!!! I can do that at night then set in the fridge before I got to bed for next morning.

@regberadaisy: I *think* that you should leave it out on the counter. I think room temperature probably 'brews' better/faster/etc.
My BIL started the french press method after he tried the PW coffee at our place and he says its equally as good! He sets it on the counter overnight. I just do the bigger batch because its easier for me to do it once and keep in the fridge.
Also, I highly recommend the coffee that PW uses (Cafe Bustelo), even if you go the french press route. Its a really good, strong roast and works perfectly for ice coffee.
Let us know if you do this!

I've never been a coffee fan. I realized recently it is because I don't like hot drinks. I even prefer hot chocolate room temp.
Thanks for posting that recipe. I remember seeing it a while ago, but this reminds me to try it.

@AuntieEm: thanks! I'm still BFing so I'll probably just use my cheapie BJs decaf grounds for now!

We bought a toddy. It's not too expensive- it cold brews a concentrate that lasts up to two weeks! We love it.

I've been meaning to try her recipe too! I heard a modification to her recipe is by using a french press and it works the same way.

We tried the PW recipe and it was SO GOOD. However it resulted in both DH and I drinking way more coffee than we used to in the mornings because it was so smooth and easy to drink
Love the tip about the french press @Cole. Maybe if we do that we won't have a giant pitcher we can pour from and can't overserve ourselves!

I cold brew by leaving it on the counter for 12 hours, stirring occasionally. I add a tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk, mix well and top with ice. If I don't have condensed milk, simple syrup and milk.
