@MegWag: Yes of course it would be fine. Ladies are starting to wear white/ivory dresses to weddings lately, I don't think it's so much of a faux pas as it used to be.

Woah, it's not kosher to wear black to a wedding there? Difficult! I think that floral dress works, but it isn't cocktail formal for sure. How about a big classy necklace over it? Something that matches but has some big flairy drama.

@sarac: I wouldn't wear all black, but I've noticed a lot of people starting to wear black dresses with hints of white or another colour to break it up a bit.
