@AmeliaBedilia: IF royally sucks! There's no way to sugar coat it. And unexplained fertility is the worst! We have no answers for why it hasn't happened for us yet; the months go by, the years go by...and still, nothing. And those of us who are Christian really struggle to understand why God is making us wait so long. It hurts and it challenges our faith and, it just sucks. Hugs to you my friend, and to all of us struggling with IF.

@sarahnicole218: Thanks!
I have my long-dreaded HSG next week on CD10. I usually O CD15. Is the HSG too late? They also told me not to have sex from now until after the test. Is that normal? I'm a little worried what it will cost (we have a high deductible), and afraid of getting bad news. Ugh! The struggles we have to go through!

@sarahnicole218: sweetie, I don't believe God is doing this. The infertility is biological, not God's doing... I think many of us struggled with faith in the deepest parts of our dispair. I now have a better understanding of the larger plan as it has unfolded. I just couldn't see it in the moment.
We've spent the last 6 days in the NICU with our new son Theo. We're just getting to know him and enjoying our stay the best we can. I think I'm working on achieving closure on my inability to carry a pregnancy myself and I firmly believe Theo was going to get to us one way or another

@Mrs. Jacks: Congratulations!! Theo is such an adorable name, I'm sure to match an equally adorable little boy. What a blessing!
@AmeliaBedilia: My HSG was late too, but still before O. I'm hoping you get some of the luck others on HB have gotten and that your HSG cycle is THE cycle for you!

@sarahnicole218: Thanks. I appreciate you always having something kind and positive to say. It would be awesome if we graduate together- and soon!

@Mrs. Jacks: that's so exciting! I'm so happy for your family!
@AmeliaBedilia: my hsg was on cd 10 too. I ovulated on cd14 and got a BFP that cycle (albeit a chemical). And we also were supposed to abstain. to you!
AFM, I'm holding out hope that my current screwy cycle doesn't screw up our monitored clomid cycle next cycle. It seemed to be lining up perfect timing wise but now I've ovulated late and it looks like I may get AF right before we leave for our trip to Mexico. That would mean we couldn't do the clomid cycle. frustrated

@AmeliaBedilia: when is your hsg? Soon, right? I had mine on CD-10 too, and Od two days later than normal that cycle.
@Mrs. Jacks: I think faith can really be tested during this process. It's so draining. ️ Congrats on your precious new little boy, and I love his name!
@travellingbee: any updates on your status? FX everything worked out ok with timing!
@sarahnicole218: hi, friend! How are you?
AFM, I had a hysteroscopy on Friday. Still kinda crampy. They removed a polyp they found on my hsg scans, and I have a follow up appt with my OBGYN in two weeks. At the beginning of April, I have an apt to discuss starting clomid in may. I'm super excited!

I got a positive OPK yesterday morning and evening, so I'm guessing that I'll ovulate today. We BD last night and this morning and hopefully, tonight for good measure! I'll keep temping so that I can confirm when ovulation occurs. I sure hope that the luck of the Irish brings us a BFP this month!

@Crystal: Still in limbo waiting. I need to get my AF by next Wednesday at the latest, which would be cd 28 and 11DPO, since I O'd a little late. It could happen but more typically (pre-MC) I went to 13DPO.

@Warbler: Congratulations! How long have you been trying and what finally worked? Hearing these gives me hope.

@Hoots: Thank you!
@ameliabedilia: We have been trying since 2013. My husband has Male Factor issues. When we got the diagnosis last year (April 2014), he started taking Fertilaid, Count Boost and Motility Boost supplements. In November, he also started to get acupuncture once a week. After this cycle we planned to go to a fertility clinic and start the IVF process. I noticed AF was a couple days late so I took a pregnancy test and almost fell down! I don't know if it was just the supplements, the acupuncture or a combination of both. We are cautiously optimistic right now, but I am allowing myself this night to be happy.

My HSG is tomorrow, and I'm freaking out/dreading it. I've read some threads saying it isn't that bad, but I'm so scared that there will be something really wrong. I'm also a little worried it will be perfect, and we will never figure out why it isn't working. I guess the hope is that they are slightly blocked and the HSG fixes it.
DH is out of town til tomorrow night, but easily available by phone. The hospital is less than a mile from my parents' house, and my mom is on stand-by if I need her. I'm trying to figure out if having her there will make it easier or make me more stressed.

@AmeliaBedilia: I'll be sending you good thoughts for whatever the best outcome would be! Please let me know how it goes. My RE would like to do one if we don't conceive this cycle or next, and I'm curious about your take on it.

@Warbler: That's amazing! I had my husband start on FertileAid this month (although, his numbers were fine) and I've been doing acupuncture since November. We've been trying since 2013 as well, so this gives me hope too Good luck and have a happy and healthy 9 months!

@AmeliaBedilia: I understand being apprehensive about the unknown! But, it truly wasn't that bad for me..just take some ibuprofen or something (I can't remember what they suggest) and that will help with the cramping. Good luck and keep us posted with how it goes!

@AmeliaBedilia: I understand your fears!! I felt the exact same way and unfortunately, had the "everything is perfect" result. So we fell into the unexplained infertility category and went to IVF the next cycle.
Either way, for you, I hope you get some answers and come up with a plan! But I also hope that, if your tubes ARE clear, you'll get some HSG luck and it will just "flush out the pipes" and this will be your miracle cycle!

The HSG went fine. There was a little delay in the tubes filling up with dye, but the radiologist said it was probably that some of the dye leaked out. He said everything looked fine. The pain wasn't too bad. I feel a little tired/lightheaded, but I'm using that as an excuse to catch up on TV. Thanks for everyone's support.
