I just browsed for flight to TN. Round trip is $900! When you add a rental car and hotel room on top of that it will be over $1000 to travel for our consultation appointment. No thank you! The plan is to drive instead. It's 13 hours from our house. We've driven longer than that in one day before so we should be fine. We'll also pass right by MILs so can stop there too if we want.

@Shutterbug: Ugh, I'm sorry. I'm basically expecting that to happen with SIL and her barely-know-each-other husband. It sucks.

@bluestriped bee: Beta appt is Tuesday, September 16. I'm not POAS or anything beforehand though.

@Leialou: I love your blog posts. I am so excited for your happy ending!

I got a again this cycle. I'm panicking that something else is wrong that I don't know about. I know I need to calm the eff down and these things take time but it's hard. I know 34 is not that old but it's old enough to worry me. I'm cutting out caffeine and cutting down on sugar this cycle to try give my PCOS the best chance of calming down that I can.

Hope you're all having a good week!

I am doing pretty well this week. I had my baseline u/s and blood work this morning, as well as my pre-IVF physical, and everything is all set for me to start with the Menopur and Gonal-f tomorrow morning. It took longer for me to get excited this cycle, but I am starting to get there!

@Leialou: I'm so excited for you! I have loved reading your blog posts!

@FliegepilzHut: Your anniversary trip sounds great!

@just_ju: That's great! It's so exciting when things finally start moving! Good luck!!

@PurplePumps: I did! I was terrified that I was going to ovulate! The RE explained to me that the CM was normal and I wasn't going to ovulate. You're almost there!

@sweetooth: Yay! The pen is SO much easier! I haven't mixed Bravelle but I do mix Menopur and the Gonal pen is a snap compared to that!

    @TheSwissWifeStyle: I hope you have a wonderful trip! And a !

@Shutterbug: Ugh! I'm sorry! I have had a few announcements that I knew were coming and I was just dreading them. Those are the worst! Treat yourself to something fun tonight! Or a nice glass of wine

@travelgirl1: So sorry about the BFN! Hopefully there is nothing else wrong, I hate that feeling! I have completely cut out caffeine as well (PCOS too), hopefully it helps!!

@Sunshine1810: Thanks... I hope enjoying our anniversary will negate some of the suckiness that has been the last 4-6weeks. I'm glad you're starting to feel excited. I believe in you!

@Leialou: You're a trooper for doing that drive! My cut off is 6-7 hours. Any more than that and I'd fly, though... 900 is insane so I might have to suck it up and drive, but I wouldn't be happy about it! I couldn't sleep yesterday thinking about your posts last night since we're so close to ER. We signed off to destroy embryos that we didn't use cause our first reaction (I completely forgot to read the paper work before the consult so we had to decide on the spot) was that it would odd to us to think about other people having "our" kids, but after reading your story, I am really reconsidering and thinking about donation.

@alohaorchid: I'm glad someone is finding amusement from my broken water heater! lol. I hope we get it fixed tomorrow so I don't have to bother a neighbor for a shower again!

My follies were up to 11-13mm this morning, same thing on my chart though. 9 were listed at 11-13. Then 8-9 < 10mm. The RE dropped my dosage of Gonal again (started at 225, dropped to 150 on wed, and now 75 for another 3 days). And I start Ganarelix tomorrow morning too. And another appt Monday, which will also be my trigger day. I changed work sites last week which was horrible timing! I went from being able to get to work in the morning in just 15 minutes after my appt to it taking an hour, on top of the hour it takes me to get to the office! I've always driven against traffic so this rush hour stop and go traffic just sucks! I don't know how people do it every.single.day.

@Shutterbug: I'm sorry, that's rough. My boss is pregnant, and it's so hard to see it and hear about it everyday.

@Leialou: I love your blog series! I'm excited to hear how it progresses, best of luck to you!

My cousin announced her pregnancy yesterday on what was my cd1. I'm lucky I missed the in person announcement, but now family is texting me to ask when I'm next.

RE appt is scheduled for October, and until then, DH and I are just focused on eating better and losing some weight. We are adjusting to our diagnosis of infertile and waiting to see what our issues might be. I did find out I have a slightly retroverted uterus and some fluid in there, so we'll have to see what that means.

@Crystal: I'm sorry! I missed my cousin's in person announcement as well (they got married around the same time as us), and I was glad that I did. I'm sorry about the texts too! That makes it even harder!

@Crystal: Sorry you have to deal with the IF diagnosis. Hopefully you guys can find out whats causing it soon and a solution.

I'm ready for the trigger tonight and retrieval on Wed. As of this morning, 13 follies @ 15mm and up, 4 more that are 13-14mm and 1 @ 12.. I'm guessing this one probably wont make it, so potentially 17 eggs max?

@PurplePumps: That sounds about right. Congrats! Are you still feeling pretty well?

@Leialou: Road trip! Maybe you can plan a few detours along the way to make the journey to and from TN a memorable one.

@LindsayInNY: Stay strong! Don't POAS! And stay busy! Next Tuesday will be here before you know it.

@travelgirl1: Sorry to hear about your negative. Are you still without insurance? I think cutting out caffeine and sugar for your baby is a good idea It may be for your PCOS, but in an effort to help myself get into a more positive frame of mind I'm spreading positive thoughts. So any changes you make for yourself right now - are ultimately for that baby on the way. And as hard as it is, try not to worry about the age thing. I'm on my way to 36 and hoping that I'm pregnant with #2 before that day comes.

@Sunshine1810: I hope things are going well with your Menopur and Gonal-F!

@PurplePumps: Is today trigger day? Is your new work site location temporary? I think I'd go mad if I had to sit in stop and go traffic everyday. I hope your water heater is fixed now!

@Crystal: Pregnancy announcements...on CD1...it just shouldn't be allowed to happen. I think there should be a mute button in real life. So as those happy words are coming out of someone's mouth on CD1, you can hit mute, smile for them, and then move on. Ugh! Enjoy the time before your appointment in October.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: I saw your other post about being almost certain that this cycle is not your cycle...say it ain't so?

@PurplePumps: I think I was working on my post as you posted - so disregard my last question about the trigger day. Your numbers sound great! I'll be thinking good thoughts for you on Wednesday!

@PurplePumps: that's a good amount of follicles! FX everything goes smoothly with the retrieval.

@sweetooth: I hope so! I told DH we should make it a fun trip.

Today is CD1 for me. I'm headed in on Wednesday for my bloodwork and ultrasound. Like a fool, I had my hopes up thinking that I'd be one of those girls who gets pregnant just before she heads back to the RE to start fertility treatments again. And thanks to that hope - I'm slightly pissy today. Trying to move past it and accept my fate. And get in a better frame of mind so that I can work towards a great IUI cycle. Sometimes I wish this process didn't involve my mind. I wish I could just turn off my brain and let my body do the work.

  18. PurplePumps

    pomegranate / 3809 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Yea! Body wise, I'm feeling pretty normal. Sometimes I wonder if these shots and stuff are working cause I don't feel any different and I feel like these hormones should have some kind of effect on me or something! Mentally, I'm just pretty excited to see what happens next.

@sweetooth: My new location is "temporary" until Nov. I was so fed up after the drive to the REs office this morning (25 minutes to go one mile!!!) that I just went to an office 5 minutes from the RE and waited out traffic for 2 hours before going to my other location. Water heater is still not fixed either, one of the parts was defective didnt fit! DH went and exchanged it, so hopefully tonight.
Sorry about AF. I know exactly how you feel. I kept hoping against all odds that I would be one of those lucky cases i kept reading about where I would magically become pregnant on my unmedicated cycle right before the planned IVF cycle... but no. How about a glass of wine tonight? That's always my consolation prize.

@PurplePumps: That's the best! The HCG trigger was a little rough for me (breasts HURT and I felt a little bloat-y)...but I guess that's good practice...or something? I hope you have a great retrieval on Wednesday!

@TheSwissWifeStyle: yes, I was asleep for the procedure. It was a very quick procedure, but I'm sure not pleasant to be awake for.

I really appreciate the good thoughts and luck, everyone! Sending good baby juju to all of you.

@PurplePumps: I hope your retrieval went well!

25 minutes to go one mile...ugh, that reminds me of my days in LA! I'm glad you have some alternatives and that it's temporary. And thanks for relating - and for the reminder to plan those little rewards at the end of cycles. I'm trying to think positive - but also plan for what I want to do if this first IUI doesn't work. Please say your water heater is fixed today? I lived through a bathroom renovation and had to use a neighbor's bathroom for over 3 weeks...worst time ever.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Oh man...bring on the buckets of beer in Mexico! Hope you have a wonderful vacation.

@FliegepilzHut: Thanks! And yes to the fast

Yesterday was CD3, and at my monitoring appointment I was surprised by a brand new office. It was so clean, and sparkly! I felt like it was a good omen. A new space, a new medicine, and in the end - a baby in my belly Gonal-F wasn't too bad - definitely easier than mixing the vials. But I did bleed a little after removing the needle and I never remember that happening with the Bravelle.

@sweetooth: Thx, the retrieval wasn't bad at all. I had 16 eggs and was up and about again after a short nap when I got home. I was just told that only 4 fertilized though so I'm a bummed by the low number, but still hopefully. Our water heater is fixed!! Finally had a shower in my own home after 2.5 weeks. I'm so glad that I could at least shower at work and only had to go to the neighbors on the weekend. I had a little red spot for some of my injections too, I think it just happens depending on exactly where you go in maybe.
