Since we don't want to blow a hole in the wall and risk hurting people in nearby units, it's loaded with birdshot.
Would probably seriously injure the intruder and give us/me enough time to hide and call the cops!

DH started keeping our bottle of bear spray by the bed after I got pregnant. Though I would be pretty nervous if he used it around baby!

I wouldn't want to keep handgun under our bed/not locked up.
