Probably? I would probably value the lesson over the money. Not big on top down parenting, but I suppose if there was a pre-agreed consequence I would follow through.

Consistency is key. You make a threat you follow through with it.

With that... only make a threat you will want to follow through with!

I think I'd hedge my bets and not threaten a punishment that would cost me money... right now my kid is 2.5 and even now I pick my battle. Sometimes if he is misbehaving at bedtime I tell him he won't get a song if he keeps it up, but I really shouldn't b/c if we skip the song EVERYONE's night is bad type of thing. If the behavior was directly related to the thing I'm spending money on I'd have to reassess.

Yes, I have. I've removed my son from lessons before they were finished when he was negatively impacting the class.

It's taught me that I can't just enroll my son in classes because I wanted to do classes as a child, he must want to as well. After trying both swimming and soccer with poor results, we've stopped lessons until he asks for them....which may be never, lol.

Like some others that wouldn't be my go to. If they couldn't get their act together than I would but I'm not going to threaten to take away a class or preschool or other activity when there's just as effective ways of dealing with behavior. If it's an exercise related activity I'd just be punishing myself bc kids need to get out that energy.
