...can you bring in your receipt later and claim it? I got home and realized that they charged me for the meat I bought but it is no one to be found in my bags. Can I go back later and get another one?

I've done it before too, but usually it's such a hassle to go back that I don't. They should though, it's just basic customer service.

Yes! Just call them up right away and let the manager know; he'll tell you to come back sometime, drop his name, and they'll give it to you.

i do my grocery shopping at walmart, so i know at least they do. they actually keep a log of items that weren't taken by customers. i just went to customer service with my receipt, and they had me go back through and get whatever they forgot.

Yup, chances are the cashier might have noticed later and put it aside. That happened with us with a couple bottles of wine.

Whole foods always leaves things out of my bag! I just call, they write the item down in a book and next time I'm there I just pick it up and let the cashier know.
Haven't had to show them my receipt!
