I remember back when we were actively TTC for DS1, we talked about skipping the next month because we wanted to avoid a Christmastime due date/baby. We ended up with a Thanksgiving time due date/baby instead, so we never "avoided" any months while actively TTC.

@mrsjyw: I avoided "starting too soon" frankly because I thought I had some control over getting pregnant when in reality you have no control over it (besides, ya know, not getting PG). I am a teacher and wanted a spring baby to maximize maternity leave. I consequently put a ton of pressure on myself and couldn't get pregnant for a year. I regret trying to plan it. Your body does what it wants! I have a beautiful 11 week old born "inopportunely" in January and it's all good
For #2 I am definitely not going to avoid any months. No stress this time! -
Nope, it took us a while so we didn't have that luxury.

We'll likely avoid TTC in may next time, since that's when we got pregnant with DS and he ended up being a Christmas baby (the 28th)! Other than that, we're not picky.
ETA: I don't have any regrets about DS's December bday but between DH's dec birthday, our niece has a dec bday and Christmas and now DS....it's an overwhelming month, lol!

Yes. We skipped march of 2014 because of a Christmas day due date and have a Jan 2015 baby.

Yes, we have been actively trying for #2 since August but recently took a 2 month break where we were actively preventing. The main reasons were that we have a vacation coming up in April (I didn't want to be sick or worry about a loss while away) and also because I had a miscarriage and chemical back to back and wanted to take a mental break.
Joke's on us because I just found out I'm pregnant, despite being super careful all month.

We had talked about avoiding March, but I ended up getting pregnant in February. For #2 I think we will do a "go with the flow attitude", and not actively try to avoid.

Only the month right after my CP and 3rd loss. We were going on our first kidless vacation and if I got pregnant that month, I'd be 6 weeks on our vacation and a bundle of nerves and not able to drink! We ended up getting pregnant with DD2 on said vacation!!

No. Dh asked if I wanted to wait until summer was over to start trying but I would rather be early pregnant in the summers here than at the end, so we started trying in May. It worked out thankfully and I'm due this month.

Not really. We did skip a month but it was because my doc wanted me to take a month off after an early miscarriage, so it wasn't like we chose to avoid a certain due date. But we got pregnant on the first try with both our miscarriage and our daughter (and got pregnant by surprise with our son) so there weren't a ton of opportunities for skipping.

No, we didn't and we ended up with December birthday, which has turned out to be great!

For DD, no. For the next one, it's precisely why we're waiting. I want a late spring/summer baby next so we're purposely avoiding TTC till later this year.

Yes. We were supposed to start TTC in March. DH didn't want a Dec bday, so we waited a month. lame.

No. We might have waited to avoid a Christmas baby, but it was our first cycle TTC #2. It took us over a year to conceived #1 so we figured there was no chance we'd get pregnant right away. DD's EDD was Christmas Eve, lol! (She was born on 12/17).

We plan on waiting to try for a spring due date- if it does not happen right away we won't skip any months. It worked out with DD- she was born in March.

Nope, it took us awhile to conceive LO#1, so I would be happy with any birthday!

No, and it didn't even occur to me!
I actually think it would be kinda cool that IF it happened this month, we'd have conceived at Easter and the due date would be a few days before Chrustmas. -
We moved up our TTC date from August to May because my husband wanted a shot at having a baby with a March/April birthday.
We got pregnant in June (with March due date ) but it ended in a MC. We were very lucky to get pregnant quickly after (In Aug) and our little dude is due in May.

Embarrassingly enough yes. We definitely wanted a 2015 baby for #2 so we didn't start NTNP before April 2014 and this time we want the baby born in 2017 and not another January baby so we'll wait at least until May. We feel very lucky and blessed to so far be able to conceive easily.

When we start trying for #3 again, we will be avoiding the next 3 months or so to avoid a winter baby.

We are waiting to try because I'm in a wedding (my dress already came in), and we have a second honeymoon planned. We figured that we will not go on any romantic vacations for a while so we wanted to get 1 more in.

For H, we were avoiding any months that would result in a May-August due date. My husband travels extensively during those months and would not be able to work in the office for 12 weeks straight. For this one, it was a happy accident that I have a late September/early October due date.

We didn't avoid any months. I had preferences but at my age I felt we would be lucky to get pregnant at any time.

We are holding off on starting to TTC #2, I want to finish grad school in December and then give birth. We might also be moving and moving with a newborn doesn't sound like much fun. I want at least a January baby.

We held off by a month because I wanted to be able took finish teaching through May/early June. It's a good thing we did because we almost too easily wound up with the June due date we wanted.

We are waiting to start trying to avoid a Christmas baby for our second. I am hoping to convince my husband we should wait a few more months to get a warm weather birthday but we will see what happens.

We didn't avoid any months except the month I had my HSG, I ovulated the day before the procedure which ruined that month.

No, we had the attitude that it would happen when it happens.

I never avoided for months, and lo2 was born a week before Christmas, which really wasn't ideal (too many visitors for too long after she was born!). If we ever decide to have a third I think I would avoid December. But we have gotten pregnant quickly both times.

I would have tried to convince DH to avoid a December baby, but I got pregnant in Jan/Feb so it became a non issue.

no, we didn't avoid, it took us almost a year to conceive our first, and when we started thinking about our second we just had no idea how long it would take, so we figured whenever it happened, it happened.

We tried to plan it around a major work deadline-- I have major deadlines every 6 weeks and no backup. We were trying to time it perfectly to be the least inconvenient for my coworkers. After 2 losses we ended up pregnant during my only 8 week "slow" period. It worked out perfectly, but a 10 month old would have been great too.
For #2 we will try a similar strategy-- aim for a fall birthday. This time I won't care so much about work

We waited until we knew we would skip my DH's busy time at work (April - June). His coworker's wife refused to plan around her husband's work (which is totally fair!), and they are due in June on literally the busiest day of the whole year!
ETA: Our plan was only to avoid those months this year. If it had taken us longer to conceive, we wouldn't have stopped TTC at any point.

We are traveling internationally this summer so we actively avoided for a couple months so I wouldn't be too far along to travel. Still not KU now so it didn't end up mattering but oh well!

We skipped a couple months when I'd be due too close to my bffs out of country wedding.
Didn't skip the Christmas birthday. Three times.
Now if we have a fourth I feel pressured to give him/her am early January birthday too.

No because of mine and my husbands age and knowing the amount of children we wanted to have there wasn't time to take any breaks. It took about 6 months the first time, 5 months the second time and got pregnant the first try with #3.
