We always planned to only have two, so while pregnant with my second, I knew he would be my last. I've just tried to embrace it as much as possible and look forward to the future. I'm sad that Logan is my last baby, but I look forward to him and Xander being old enough to enjoy many of the same things together. We have a fun future ahead of us!

I'm only 7 weeks pregnant with #3. We were also in the maybe 3 camp and this pregnancy came earlier than we planned but the second that test came up positive I knew I was done.

i'm trying to savor these blissful baby days--LO2 is 8.5 months, so more than a lump, but not a moody toddler like LO1. knowing it is my last, i'm trying to take it all in but things are so busy and i will feel bittersweet no matter what. i ask my husband sometimes if we should have another, just to put it out there, knowing that we won't. he laughs and asks if i'm trying to kill him.

I struggle with this too- I'm 12 weeks pregnant now and have a pretty good feeling that this is our last and am trying to take special care to savor this pregnancy. I definitely don't feel "totally done" but who knows how I will feel as this pregnancy progresses. I sort of thought I would feel so over it even early on and that would be the signal to me that this was it, but I actually like being pregnant (most of the time!).

We aren't done (hopefully), but I'd imagine once we're done, it's going to feel REALLY good to get rid of all the baby stuff, clothes, etc that are taking up our entire house. I can't wait for that.

Everything else I think I'm going to be really sad about. Baby snuggles....all the "firsts"....etc.

Interested to see what others have to say, because I'm afraid it's going to be a hard transition for me.

We are not done yet (TTC #2) but I am already mentally prepared to be done. I don't know if it's because my LO is already so independent (2.5 years now) or because I've already had a couple losses with what should have been my "last pregnancy", but I am ready to say goodbye to this stage of my life. On a practical note, we are running out of space in our attic and I keep having to donate or throw away baby things that I meant to keep for our second child.

We are 90% one and done and even though DS is still small, I already feel sad! I know it's (most likely) the right decision, but like a PP said, I kept my very favorite of his newborn things anyway just ... because.

@runnerd: my exact feelings. DH is 100% done, I'm 90%. I don't know if I could miscarry again, or spend another 12 weeks on the couch while my boys watch tv, or suffer through my depression and anxiety during pregancy to only have it get worse when I was done. Emotionally it's too much on me but I am so sad I'll never have a daughter it makes me think maybe. I keep thinking how great it would be to have two boys to look after their little sister.

We both just feel totally done. There isn't really any part of us saying we're not sure if we want a third. I feel lucky that we're both on the same page in this regard because I think it would be really hard if I wanted another and he didn't, or vice versa..... My new baby is only 5 months old though, so it's easy to say now, but I can't see us changing our mind at all. Plus DH is probably going to get snipped so that will be that!

We're one and done. We talked about how many kids we wanted before I was pregnant. I had it in my head that we had to decide how many kids we were going to have before we started. My husband suggested we just start with one and see how it goes. Which led to us contemplating the merits of only having one child.

I got pregnant quickly and hated pretty much every minute of it. Through my whole pregnancy we talked more about having only one. By the end of my pregnancy we were both 90% one and done. I didn't want to make any rash decisions and I half expected to change my mind once she was born.

We split parental leave (Canadians) and neither of us loved it. Neither of us liked the baby phase. We sold or gave away pretty much all the baby stuff as she outgrew it.

We revisited it every so often (like every time someone else had a baby), but neither of us ever had any interest. By the time she was 2 we felt pretty confident we were done. Neither of us was really sad or mourning anything.

We're just not baby people. We are loving having a little kid though! One kid suits us and our selfish lifestyle just fine.

We are parents of an only child and I knew that it would likely be our only child. I guess the way I look at it is a bit different, I never planned to have a certain number of children, I know it isn't really under my control anyway, so I tried to enjoy every moment as it came.

Mentally, I didn't really prepare...it was more the path my life took I guess.
