@ladyfingers: To be honest, I HAVE taken a HPT before having a drink, my first month off the pill. At home, before a few glasses of wine, certainly not at a bar (because, ew, how gross are bar bathrooms?).
It's just... interesting. -

I went to Rite-Aid and the male cashier just HAD to comment. The thing was, he thought I was buying a huge bulk pack of HPTs but in fact I was buying mostly Ovulation test kits, so that was also really embarrassing.

Where I live, you can buy condoms and HPTs in the vending machines at the train station.

You know what is more awkward than buying a pregnancy test? Buying a pregnancy test and condoms from an early 20s male cashier who decides he must comment rather than ignore it and ring you up.
I had a pregnancy worry last month, and that was my purchase, followed closely by filling a new script for BC pills.

@looch: Seriously? Where do you live? I see the condoms as a good idea-- better people can get them whenever and wherever they need them-- but do people really get out of the train and think, hmm.... maybe I should pick up a HPT on my way home...

I always felt like a bad person when I would buy a pregnancy test in the same shopping trip as a bottle of wine! Hey, I was going to be bummed if it was a BFN... I needed to have a glass of wine on hand! I always got weird looks when I did that:)
