Do cars stop and let you cross so you can get to your car? Also, you are at the curb. It's not like you are just exiting the store and are not quite to the street.

Maybe it's just me, but if someone needs to cross the street, I stop. I don't do it recklessly and slam on my breaks. Especially if there is a cross walk and it may have a stop sign.

If I was the pedestrian and a car let a bunch of people cross ahead of me, I'll wave and let them drive. I'll wait for the next car that has to stop to cross. Sometimes I don't even get that. Maybe a bit of a pet peeve of mine.
