I loved my wedding. But I think I would change some of it. I really wanted a garden wedding, and couldn't find a garden setting in my price range so we settled for a beautiful historic inn on their courtyard. It was pretty, but not as green as I'd like it to be. I would probably go somewhere surrounded by trees and flowers, even if I had to pay a little more. I also wouldn't wear those shoes- my feet killed!

I want to say absolutely not but.... I would change my florist who ignored me when I said I hate roses. I would have given my dj a complete playlist. I would have asked the cake decorator to do something they were comfortable wih instead of having my cake end up looking like it did. In the end, those were all minor things and I really wouldn't mind doing the same thing all over again, roses and all. I loved our wedding day so much.

I'd only change the weather. It poured and we had 40mph winds the whole day. I arrived with a plastic bag over my head.
We had a beautiful mansion on the water but no photos of the water and the gardens because we couldn't go outside. -
I would change a few things but overall I was happy with what happened. The main thing I would change is the photographer we hired. She turned out to be a complete flake and that was incredibly disappointing but everything else was pretty great.

I don't think I'd change anything about the actual wedding. It was pretty close to perfect! However, looking back I'd switch out some of the bridesmaids...I very rarely talk to 2 of them anymore and I only got married 9 months ago!

I absolutely loved our wedding & am very grateful with how everything turned out. It POURED for the rehearsal dinner & the day after, so the fact that we had 75 & sunny was a blessing. I would change minor things though & what bugs me to this day is my hair! It was fine at first but it kinda wilted & if I could do it over again I would change the way I had it styled. I love weddings & wedding planning! I can't wait to renew our vows...I want to @ 5, 10, 15, 25 lol just so I can wear a pretty dress & plan some floral arrangements again ;P

@mediagirl: your florist was smart! My lo's name is rose so I'm biased to roses:) I actually used to dislike them too because they're so common, but then I realized they're so common because they're classic.

I wish I just would have been more relaxed. I was so worried about my parents (they are divorced) not running into each other and worried that my friends from different groups wouldn't mesh that well.
...and maybe not started drinking so early in the evening...

I was slighty disappointed with the photog and florist. I feel like it was too hard to convey what I wanted to the florist since I was planning my Hawaiian wedding from London. I always think that if I could have met her in person - that we could have worked out the kinks but I dunno. My cake was horrible. I think the storage was messed up at the venue and the cake ended up melting.

i would have a much smaller wedding. it would be my wedding and not my mom's. i'd hire a nicer photographer.

I would have asked someone to be in charge for the day. It was really annoying ti have waiters, the DJ, bartenders asking me questions or waiting for my cue to do things. And I would have made it a not rainy day (if I had that kind of power).

The only thing might be the DJ, he kinda sucked.
We're 95% sure he didn't play half of our "Must plays". One of which was he didn't play any of family member's wedding songs that we requested. We thought it would be nice for the DJ to play my ILs and brother's wedding songs but he didn't! That one really peeved me off. GrrrBut besides that nothing. Everything was absolutely perfect. We didn't' spend more than we wanted. We had all our family and friends there who were just SO happy for us. The weather was perfect. The venue and caterers were beyond wonderful. Could not have asked for a more perfect day.

I would have had a destination wedding. Seriously! There was so much garbage that was family related leading up to the day that I wish I had gone with a destination wedding.
The reason we didn't was because I thought my husband's parents would be upset because they are old and don't travel. Well it made no difference. His mother said our wedding was no big deal, heckled me during our speeches and they were also late to the ceremony! They live 10 minutes (if that) from the venue. They dissed the food, the music, everything. I was so mad!

My wedding day was the most fun day of my life! I was so determined to be laid back, though, that I didn't make a strict enough schedule for the day-of. We started our first look an hour later than we'd planned (hair and makeup took longer than we thought it would), we missed our cocktail hour completely, and didn't take any formal photos with extended family. I was way too stressed out up until the ceremony.

Honestly, I wouldn't change anything. I still remember it as the best day so far in my life. It was so much fun to spend a beautiful day surrounded by all of our friends and family. For us, that doesn't happen too often!
I guess if I really had to change something I might also switch up the bridesmaids a bit. I now live pretty far away from most of them, and one of them really has not made any effort to keep in touch, despite lots of effort on my side. I guess we weren't as close as I thought we were...

I think our wedding was pretty successful with the budget we had and we heard our guests had a great time.
The only thing is I wish I would have gotten flowers from Costco or something instead of doing what I did. Flowers didn't look that good.

I would have worn a different dress and not let others sway my decision. I would have also tried to spend less to put more towards a more elaborate honeymoon. We also would have paid for it to last at least another hour, it went waaay too fast.

I would go with medieval dresses from the start, because that's what we ended up with (none of my bridesmaids ordered their dresses in time, and my dress person LOST my dress for about 2 months. So we got three online in under 2 weeks and made one less than a week prior.) It turned out to be a good thing, as it was unseasonably cold, and we all had long sleeves.
Also, I would've TOLD my husband that no, his brother had to catch a ride with someone else, because I wanted to sit next to him on the way to the reception.

I loved everything about our wedding, and the party bus afterwards! The only thing I wish I would have done is taste the food before the wedding. It was a destination wedding so we didn't have a chance to and it came out kind of bland. (Good thing we had plenty of drinks to distract people)

@artbee: We ended up having 65 come, but had 85 confirmed yes & 15 out of those 20 were family. =/
The funny thing is we had alot of family throw a fit about not getting invited, since we were paying for everything ourselves, and then those that were family didn't even show!
I seriously would've invited more friends, since we have alot of people we're close to that we couldn't invite b/c we had family that needed to be invited. =/

I would have hired a band instead of a DJ, or at least made a playlist for the DJ because the music sucked, but even still, it was pretty awesome and I didn't care then, I was way too happy to be married!

@cyneswith: wow, I cant believe someone would ask to go in your car. Brides and grooms need their privacy!
@runsyellowlites: that's aweful! We only had 3 couples not show, and they had good reasons. 2 were sick because of cancer, and one has a chronic illness.

@artbee: The friends that didn't make it were some of our Pastors that we already knew may have Pastoral things they'd have to take care of, so they weren't a surprise. Seriously though with the wedding and then our recent baby shower, we've learned that DH's family is just like that. Definitely throw a fit to get invited, but then not even come. UGH! Glad I got the good one out of the bunch. lol

@runsyellowlites: that's so annoying! We had lots of family upset with us for not being invited too. It was a 30 person ceremony, which meant we each got 15 invites. So no, I couldn't invite my whole family. My aunt hung up on my mom when she found out. I didn't care, less people there! I hate being center of attention, and it would.stress me out so much id be sure to get a migraine if I had lots of people staring at me, and I cared more about my health on my wedding day than my aunt's happiness.

@artbee: Yea, it's pretty amazing how entitled people become about things like that.
Since we couldn't invite extended family to the wedding (DH seriously has 8 aunts/uncles on JUST his dad's side not counting their spouses) I made sure to invite EVERY woman in his family to the shower. It's DH's 1st child so I figured I'd for sure be outcasted if I didn't invite them all. On the day of we seriously only had DH's mom & 1 sister (the one he grew up with from his mom) show up... everyone else didn't even rsvp. Oh well, atleast I did my part right?... lol

@artbee: It was an Anne Barge one, but I would have gotten a Kenneth Pool one. It was a bit more detailed and blingy. I possibly would have also gone with a lace dress with a blingy belt.

DH and I still talk about how much we loved our wedding but there is one thing I wish I did - I wish I stood my ground on decisions I made! We had already planned to hold the traditional Chinese tea ceremony a week prior for both sides of the family since we were having a day wedding and were tight on time. I wanted to do our first look and have bridal party pictures taken in the morning prior to the ceremony, so no time for the tea ceremony morning of. A month before the wedding I got put on the spot while at lunch with DH and his family, and ended up reluctantly agreeing to do tea with his side the morning of. I ended up having to rearrange our timeline to fit it in without compromising the time I wanted to take portraits. Well wouldn't you know it, his family showed up close to 45 minutes late for the tea ceremony!!!!! I WAS FURIOUS!!! Because of their tardiness, the entire bridal party had to stand around doing nothing. I was in my traditional red qipao and needed to wear it for the tea ceremony, so I couldn't just push our first look and bridal party portrait up in the schedule (changing would have take too much time). We ended up having to rush through the first look just to get it done in time to walk down the aisle!!! And I never got to do bridal party shots in my white wedding gown! I have plenty of me with them in my qipao since we were standing around for so long.
Wow typing that out made me realize I'm still bitter about that. Seriously though - when his family asked about doing the tea ceremony, they were relentless on doing it the day of and I gave in. And they show up 45 minute late?!?!?! Beyond rude and inconsiderate. If I had stood my ground this wouldn't have happened. >=\

I loved our wedding and think it went great, but I would change a few things if I could do it over again. First I would spend less money. I have no idea how specifically, but I would try. Second, I would incorporate more of my dad's Chinese culture, if even just wearing a qipao for the reception. It literally didn't cross my mind until after the wedding that I didn't do any Chinese traditions but incorporated many of the Filipino ones. Lastly, I wouldn't allow (or would seriously discourage) all the shots the groomsmen gave DH in the morning. He ended up with a stomach ache during the reception and couldn't enjoy his meal. I felt so bad for him because he was so looking forward to the meal he chose.
