Where would it be located? I would want a beach house in Malibu and DH would want a cabin in Lake Tahoe!

we've always dreamed of having our vacation home in st thomas! we traveled there on a cruise and fell in love!
realistically though, we'll probably be purchasing a lake house up north in MI somewhere! it's the best during summertime!

I would want a cabin in Lake Tahoe too! We always stay in cabins when we go up there and dream about owning one someday.

Well right now we live in TN but once we move home to MA I would love a second home on Cape Cod or up at Lake Winnipisaukee. Not very glamorous but if I'm going to have a second home I would want it to be within a drivable distance from my main residence so I could get a lot of use out of it.

Well, if we are dreaming south of France would be great! My husband spent a lot of time in Turkey and would love to buy a place there but the way I see it we could just rent a really nice place for what we would spend considering we would need a caretaker. Assuming we keep our home base in Michigan I could see us getting a place up north at some point.

I would love a cabin in the Muskoka's or somewhere near there that doesn't get so jammed up with Traffic on weekends in the summer. Huntsville maybe? I want it to be less than 6 hours drive so I could go there on weekends and be able to leave after work on Friday night.

Istanbul, rural Italy, Barcelona, or Marrakesh.
If we can ever afford a second home, we've agreed it will be in one of those places.
Right now we're in temporary housing, but as soon as we leave for Kosovo on our long term assignment we'll be building a home. If we ever leave Kosovo, we'll likely keep it and rent wherever we move to.

Colorado (near Boulder) or Seaside, FL. I wouldn't want it to be so far away that we would have to make major plans to go. Both of those places could be easy weekend trips for us.

i think i'd be realistic, and get one in the outer banks of north carolina. it's only about an hour from us, so we could use it all the time. i'd love to have a house somewhere in europe, but we wouldn't be able to get there enough!
