I think I'd want a spa style shower with the waterfall showerhead above, and three extra shower jets on the wall. Heaven!
eta: a place in the shower to store all my hair that falls out.

@Mrs. Bee: I was thinking the exact same thing!!!

@Mrs. Bee: oh that would be awesome. I'd like that plus natural stones on the floor. They feel so good on your feet when you're showering!! My inlaws had that in their last house. Amazing. Also, heated floors.

I was also thinking a luxurious shower with multiple heads! In fact, it better be the size of a small room!

A full outdoor kitchen-- stone patio, grill, plus one of those brick oven kind of things, and of course, running water, refrigerator, comfy furniture, and a fire pit to sit around drinking wine and and toasting marshmallows.
Second choice would be an absolutely awesome kitchen and/or bathroom, which would probably be more useful since we are in New England where you wouldn't want to cook or eat outside for at least half the year.

Definitely a fancy schmancy shower. Our master bedroom shower sucks!

Oh yes, full outdoor kitchen please! I am seriously thinking of doing it in the area where our inground pool is...once we fill it in of course.

Yeah, the one thing I think we're missing in our apartment is a large two person shower. I hate showering and bathing and prefer to do it with DH so I'm not alone. Right now we basically have a miniature tub with one small showerhead.

@regberadaisy: In theory yes. We'll leave it alone until we need to replace the liner (it is brand new) in a few years. It is already a pain in the neck, and honestly, I don't know how much use we'll really get. My husband thinks otherwise though.

Oh man that shower sounds awesome!
If I had unlimited money, I would have a convertible indoor/outdoor pool. Summer is short in Canada so having a pool is a major luxury already... but what if you could use it all year round?

A third vote for big outdoor kitchen! We looked at a house that had one and were so sad to find out it was already under contract when we looked. We'd love to add one to our house someday!

I would totally vote an amazing outdoor patio area. Hotutb with fireplace, firepit with comfy seating, outdoor grill/kitchen area. That would be amazing for entertaining.

A tankless water heater and/or heated floors. Toasty warm floors in the winter sounds like heaven.

@regberadaisy: @Mrs. Bee: That was my answer, too! A glorious shower!

A commercial grade kitchen with ample storage and countertop space and a nice island.

Definitely a decked out backyard. Inground pool with spa/hot tub, awesome patio, firepit and a bill ole grill.

Put me down for an amazing outdoor kitchen and eating area, as well. And I'd like it to also include a fireplace. Like this...

@BananaPancakes: oh wow, sign me up for that!
i would love a huge den that can be divided out into an office/ living room with a huge flatscreen tv. would also want a fireplace in there too.

@Mrs. Bee: I have that. Our shower IS awesome.
I would love a basement den, but that's hard to come by in South Florida.

this isn't so much of a splurge as a fantasy: my town growing up had a lot of gorgeous victorian homes with turrets, and I've always wanted one of those so I can have a round room with tons of windows that I can make into a cozy reading space! I lived in an apt/floor of a townhouse that came close once, with bay windows that had stained glass detailing and I loved it! it was my favorite apartment but the landlord wouldn't allow dogs so I moved after only 1 year
outdoor kitchen also sounds amazing, but really at this point I'd settle for a yard with room for a grill!

@Mrs squirreld: That is so awesome! I need that in my life!!!
Id love an outdoor entertaining area too but it would need to be covered and heated because we are in the cold, wet UK!!

A really big tub. I rarely take baths because ours just isn't big enough to be comfortable, but I would love a huge one that felt like a spa.
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6703 posts
I echo previous posters who want an insane bathroom. I'd love a two-person shower with built in bench, separate jacuzzi tub, a double sink so that there's plenty of storage, and heated towel bars.
pomelo / 5509 posts
Just one? It's nearly impossible to choose.
My first thought was definitely about the bathroom - a master bath with heated floors, a two-person shower with a waterfall shower head in the middle and extra shower jets on the walls, a large garden tub with jets, double sinks, heated towel rack...
BUT I also want a library/reading nook.
And I also want an infinity pool.
Want, want, want...

I would say a really nice outdoor area. We have a huge deck but the backyard needs work. Would love a built in grill, kitchen area, bar. Lots of couches, lights, fire pit, etc

We have the spa-like master bath and a gourmet kitchen . . . but we don't have a James Bond Pool (@Mrs squirreld: EPIC!!!!!) or an ocean view (good call@oliviaoblivia!). So I'd add those two things annnnnnnd this:
I have a nice closet, but . . . . wowsa!
