I have been a pretty bad pregnant lady & haven't eaten very healthily. We have also been living with my parents for a few months, and they don't buy organic, so I just eat what they do. Before that I was at least buying mostly organic produce & dairy.
Now I am thinking I want to try to do a little better when I am nursing... But is that dumb? It seems like it probably has a bigger impact in utero anyway! And organic is more expensive so I feel bad to ask my parents to change how they shop. We'd buy it ourselves but the whole point of us living with them is to save money!
EDITED TO ADD: We contribute to grocery bills & other household expenses while living with my parents. This post wasn't as much about whether to ask my parents to spend more money - if there was a significant increase, we'd of course contribute. But since we're at their house, I prefer to just let my mom shop how she wants. I was more interested in if it's that important to change your diet when BFing if you didn't eat really healthy/organic when you were pregnant.
