Did you have a short list? How long after the baby arrived did you pick a name out?
I feel like we are never going to name this baby! I want to monogram all the things!!!

For DD we had three pages (8.5 x 11) of names that we sat down with at about hour three after her arrival. We hacked off names pretty quick, got to a top 5, then a top 2 about an hour after that!
DS we had a decent list (10 or so) and within an hour of him being born the longstanding fave on that list was it for him!
We didn't want to name either before they arrived, and it was amazing how quickly the names fit once they were in our arms

We had a short list of about 3 names. Decided on way to the hospital in the cab!

Well, we were Team Green, but we still went in with a short list for both genders. We had 3 girl names, one with alternate middle names, and 1 boy name but with three middle name choices.
.
I had a boy, so the first name was easy, and D let me pick the middle name. I chose it right away....within 10 minutes of delivering. I bet it would have taken much longer if we'd a girl, though.

We were pretty torn between 2 names, but were still looking for other options. We named her about 24-36 hours after she was born. The hospital was starting to hound us a little because they wanted to complete the paperwork., but we didn't care. It just took us a little while to figure out what fit her best... we did end up with one of our top contenders.

We were
and had a set boy's name and 3-4 girl's names. We had a girl and named her about an hour after she was born. Her middle name had been set for a while so we just needed to decide on a first name.

We were team green
with both kids and had a top 3 list for both sexes. Named DD about ten minutes after she was born and named DS after a full day. It felt so awkward telling all of the nurses and doctors, "Oh, he doesn't have a name yet!"

We had a short list of three names, but we had one we were leaning towards. Once she was born we knew for sure that was her name.

It took us a few days! Maybe almost a week? We knew one of the names but weren't sure about the other name and order!

With both LOs we were TG but sort of had a short list going into it each time. With DD1, we had two girls names on our list with a strong preference for one; for boys, we were chopping and changing all the way up until our LO was born. Fortunately, she was a girl and we immediately named her our top pick.
For DD2, we were fairly set on one of two boys' names but couldn't agree on girls names to save our lives! When DD2 arrived, we ran through our list of five names and tried them all out on her before settling on one about three hours later - and that was only because we were going home within the next hour and we wanted to have a name agreed before we left the hospital!

We had one name pretty much settled but didn't want to say for sure since we didn't have the second name picked out (twins). Plus, we wanted to meet them before we decided which baby got the name we knew were going to use and what the other name would be! The boys were born at 2 a.m. and I think we didn't settle on their names until around 10 or 11 a.m. that same morning. We did have a short list of names we liked when I went into labor.

We had a shortlist of two names. When she was born, DH threw out another name so we had 3. We named her about two hours after she was born.

We named her after she was born. We didn't know her sex, so we had 3 or 4 girls names, and 2 boys names. We wanted to meet the baby first. Now that she's here, I am so glad we waited. Her name suits her. Plus, it was fun to be like, "We don't know what we're having, and we haven't picked a name!" ... It helped avoid a lot of unsolicited advice.

We had a few ideas but went with a variation of one of those choices when she was 2 days old!

Ahhh I have so been there! I thought we would never find a name that I liked. My husband vetoed all of my names - so we went in with a list of five of his names - and then I had one of mine that I thought for SURE he would be okay with once I went through all the labor.
I saw her and thought .. crap .. she looks like an Olivia. I'm not going to get the name I want.
He had a clear number one, and Olivia was like fourth on his list.
He goes ... "I vote Olivia" and I just KNEW that was going to be her name. Somehow when we both saw her - that was it.
The middle name took another 24 hours.
Eventually your baby will have a name! Haha.
