I prefer to park close. I do have to be patient but it's better than pushing my heavy cart to the far end of the parking lot.

I park as close as possible unless it means hunting for a spot, then I just park when I find a spot! My husband parks far away but someone always parks next to him (his whole point of parking far away). Ha.

I just try to park near a cart return. I don't hunt down close spots too much.

I usually park far away because I don't like dealing with all the craziness near the front of store.

I usually end up parking far away and telling myself it's good to get the exercise.

I always park far away b/c I hate being near all the congestion. I figure I'm walking all around the store or mall so what does it matter if I also have a walk to/from the store.

I usually park far away but close to a cart return. I just hate dealing with all the craziness and congestion.

@creativemomma15: same!! Near the cart return so I can get the kids and all the stuff outta the car as fast as possible!

I always just park at any stall I can find first - I don't like waiting for a close spot when there's another one even if it's farther away. I don't mind walking though - I figure it's good for me anyway!

I always park in the first spot I find no matter where it is. I get bad road rage in parking lots for some reason and just fantasize about running people over (I would never do it). Costco and walmart parking lots are the worst!

With a small kid it's now less about a close space for me, and more about finding a spot close to the cart drop off, preferably one with a cart in it so I can pop her in it right away- she's heavy!

I like a close spot but I usually just park where I can. I prefer close to a cart return over close to the door, although both is a bonus!

I'm bad about exercising, so often I'll park far away. But if the kids are with me or it's freezing cold, I'm staking out a closer spot.

I hate waiting for spots so I'll just keep driving until I find an open spot.

Over here (UK) the parent & child spaces are almost always closest to the entrance. Is it different elsewhere?

@illumina: There aren't very many parent and child spots in the US. I think some stores put signs up, but the only ones they're required to have are the handicap accessible spots.

Always far. I don't have the patience to wait for a parking spot or drive around a crazy parking lot looking for one, and I don't mind walking.

My mom always said that the people who drive around looking for a close parking spot are the ones that could usually use the walk. I don't know if that's true or not but I know that I could usually use the walk!

Cart return!
As long as my legs work I don't mind walking a bit to get inside.
