When did you go in to the hospital or when did your Dr tell you to come in? How far apart were your contractions supposed to be?

They told me that I was supposed to come in asbsoon as labour started so I could be monitored. This led to a lot of false alarms, lol. I ended up getting induced at 41 weeks in any event.

I'm planning one (36 weeks today!) but I did go ahead and schedule a csec date at 41 +1 weeks bc that's when LO#1 was born.
I'm also being monitored with biweekly ultrasounds to make sure baby is not too big (LO was almost 9 lbs)

For my vbac, my OB wanted me to come in when contractions were 8 minutes apart. Although it didn't end up happening and I went in for an induction and did end up having a successful vbac. My OB told me I can come in any time labor started because they are a lot more cautious with vbac candidates.

When the contractions were regular and about 5 min apart, but not to wait too long bc the 2nd labor goes faster. In the end, I got induced at 40+5 by having my water broken

Just the regular, called when they were 5 min apart and they had me come in.

My contractions were 3 minutes apart, 1+ minute long from the beginning with DS, and we live 45 mins-1 hr from the hospital now. So I asked what to do given the previous cesarean, the distance from the hospital and my previous labor with closely spaced contractions during all 36 hours of labor. (So the traditional 5-1-1 rule just doesn't work with my contraction happy uterus.) Her response: "well, you don't have to come in right when labor starts, but don't wait too long. We don't want you having the baby on the side of the road in traffic, especially with a VBAC." Not helpful, but I'm not sure there's anything else she could have said.

Thanks everyone! I plan on asking my midwife today... You'd think I'd know since this is my 2nd vbac but last time I just went with her advice of "we want you to come in quickly so we can monitor you"... But she had stripped my membranes and it started labor after that so I was more confident that it was actually happening. Then the OB on call made me feel like I came too soon but I generally labor quickly. I'm just feeling anxious this time around!

@pastemoo: Hi! Thanks for checking in... Baby girl #2 is 11.5 weeks old now... Everything went well and really fast. We had one false alarm but then right at 38 weeks I started having contractions around 9:30pmish and they started out around 8-9 minutes apart. My DH was at a friends and he came home around 11ish and there was about a 10-12 minute break for a bit but then they started right up at 6-7 minutes apart. My mom came over to stay with our other two and we left the house around 12:20am, got to the hospital a little before 1am and DD was born at 1:30am! It was fast! If I am remembering correctly, I was about 5cm when we got to triage, my water broke there while they were starting an IV so I could get an epidural but by the time I got to the delivery room I was ready to push! Crazy! It still seems like such a whirlwind when I think back on it and the nurses all said if we have another one we better get to the hospital quick! We are all doing well though!
