Just curious. Most of the crib mobiles I have seen seem to have soothers with them as well, which seems unnecessary if I'm using a noise machine. Did you just go with one that doesn't make noise, or did you skip it all together?
Thanks!

We have both....we have a Marpac Dohm which stays on all night. The crib mobile is turned on twice to help R fall asleep.

We have both. So far, we have only used the sleep sheep ( I got the travel one so it attaches to his crib). I like how the mobile looks over his crib!

We just have a white noise machine. We have the Foscam mounted on the wall and LO falls asleep staring at it and "chats" with it every morning (I guess she likes the red lights on it).

We ended up skipping a mobile. I couldn't find one I really liked and most are $$$.

We only have a white noise machine. My DD struggles to sleep with any kind of visual stimulus so we gave the mobile a miss.

We have a white noise machine and a simple pinwheel mobile that I made- so it moves with the wind but no motor or sounds. We plan to use the white noise way longer than a mobile. @lawbee11: c stares at the light on our video monitor too! It took us so long to figure out that was why it seemed like she was always staring right at us! We even put duct tape over the light to make it softer.

Thanks ladies!
I'm thinking that I might try to make a mobile with no lights or noise for over the crib like you did, @Foodnerd81: , because like @Mrs. J: I like the look, too! I guess if LO really ends up liking the mobile on the swing/bouncy chair/whatever we end up getting, I could always get one for the crib, too.

We bought a mobile because I sort of just thought we should and I wished we had saved the $$$. The white noise machine, on the other hand, we could not live without. We have a marpac dohm.

Someone gave us their daughters mobile when she stopped
caring about it. But R sleeps on her tummy so the mobile was pointless.

@LovelyPlum: we keep her room so dark now that she can't see it at night. I really wanted to get a nice one that played music but couldn't find one I liked, now I'm glad I went with pretty easy and cheap!
