i was going through my FB albums to grab pics last night for the wedding pic thread and realized i have albums from a wedding that didn't work out. when friends or family divorce, do you go back and delete their wedding photos? i hadn't given it much thought, but now i kinda feel bad.

I deleted from Facebook after a few months just in case it upset them having them up, but kept them on my hard drive.

You can change the privacy settings to make yourself the only one allowed to see it. That way you still have the photos on your profile, but others can't see it. Sounds like the best solution.

I had to push my grandma into taking down her son's (my uncle's) wedding photos off her wall before he came to visit right after a very painful divorce that wasn't his choice. She kept insisting it was fine but I knew seeing that would make him feel even worse.

I choose to leave them. I had pics of my neice & her ex on fb. After a few months she txt me and asked me to delete them & I did. So if its requested I will otherwise they stay.

I haven't had to think about this, but I think I would leave them unless asked. If it was a close friend, I would ask whether or not they want me to delete them.
DH's grandmother has a photo at her house of one of her daughters' wedding that didn't work out. I think it makes his aunt sad to see it...

I guess my question is, why would you keep up photos of a friends wedding that didn't work out?

@mrs. bird: well, i was moving pictures off of my harddrive onto DVDs anyway, so iphoto deleted it off fb when i deleted from iphoto. but I did it on my own...it felt kind of awkward. she hasn't deleted their album yet. it hasn't even happened yet, they're in the process still.

More awkward is someone I know who's left her own wedding pics up from her wedding a few months ago that already hasn't worked out. Sad....and awkward.
....they didn't even get thank-you's out before they split. (lol that's a whole 'nother thread)

@Beebug: i can see it though, spending all that time and money planning your wedding and then still wanting to share the photos. i mean, it could still have been a great day, i'm sure she looked great and it was still a day she spent with other ppl too, not just the ex.
@.twist.: for this particular one, most of the photos aren't even of the couple, they're of family & myself. not all are still with us anymore and the thought of deleting any of the pics i have of them makes me sad. i also like some of them that are just me & my mom, we don't have many pics together and those you can't even tell are at the wedding unless you knew from the album title.

@mrs. bird: could you just edit the album to move the photos you like to another album? I didn't delete-forever the photos here, just from facebook - but again I didn't have a choice because of stupid iphoto! oyy
