I only have one kid and I still feel and classify myself as a FTM. I don't know when it "wears off" if that makes sense.

I actually feel pretty comfortable with my parenting skills at this point. There are obviously new situations that arise all of the time, but I don't doubt myself as much as I used to. I also have a better network to turn to for support with my mom's groups and HB, of course.

@T-Mom: I have a 5 year old! (as well as a 7.5 year old and 19 month old)
I kinda feel FTM with the baby sometimes - it's crazy how many things have changed since I had my first (and it wasn't even really that long ago).

Yup, DD is 6 yo and I still feel like I'm in unchartered territory sometimes as new issues and milestones arise. I have two older nieces and have watched them grow up, but it's still different when you go through these things as a parent (vs as an aunt).
