i tried introducing several loveys--two angel dear animals, a burp cloth, and something else. i can't remember. he never took to any of them. i repeatedly placed it in between us during nursing and he would just pick it up and fling it away. i also would scoot them next to him when i put him down in the crib (i still do, he's 14 months), but he doesn't show any interest. makes me feel more cozy, though, i guess. i'm so lame in the lovey department.

I think it was right around 5-6 months, we gave him an A&A lovey. I wouldn't say he's attached, but he definitely knows that that blanket means it's time to calm down and get ready for bed. Now, at almost 15 months, I'd say he's more attached to and has stronger sleep/calm associations with the A&A swaddle that we use as a blanket in his crib.

@edelweiss: my son never took to lovies either until he was 18 months. My DD is 4 months and now that she's good at grabbing things, I thought I might try early with her.
