His birthday is still a couple of months out but I'm planning on making E's from scratch!

We're getting my favorite store bought cake from Metro Market/Mariano's/Roundy's. It's seriously my favorite marble cake. I wish I could have voted Marshmallows! I use that one now with my husband in emails and texts.

Box! But I made the frosting from scratch.
I found on Pinterest that if you substitute the oil for butter and water for milk, it tastes a lot better and it did! Everyone thought it was made from scratch.

I've done both!
P's was from scratch since it was a bean cake & G's has usually been from a box.

Scratch! I don't mind a little sugar every so often but I like to keep it as natural as possible.

Box with icing from scratch. Really, I've never thought scratch cake tastes any better than boxed. Usually it's worse.

Box, even though I feel bad saying it. Angel food cake is a birthday tradition for the little guys in my family and that's just too much to make from scratch. Side note: my mom said we were too little to be angles yet, so she called it cherub food cake.

I was going to do scratch, but I knew I would stress out and a box was just easier. I did make the icing from scratch.

scratch! but thats how we bake everything, so it's not really a stretch.

I'm an everything from scratch kind of gal. Made the icing, cupcakes, food, etc. I really love to cook, especially baking.

I like to bake, but their cakes were from a box mix. We made the whipped cream though They ate so little of it that it wasn't a priority to have it be nutritious or fancy. And I was already up late making four since one stuck to the pan and got destroyed, and we needed another for guests....which hardly anyone ate. So yeah, it was the right decision for us, lol.

It will be from scratch, but that's how I usually bake. I don't know why, but I feel like scratch is easier? Logically I know that's not true

From scratch. She has food allergies, no eggs, no wheat, no milk. I didn't have a choice but to make it myself (even if I don't normally bake)

If i were to make it it'd be Scratch...I don't like baked box cakes. The batter is yum though.

I bought DS's cake for his first birthday. I haven't decided what I'm doing this year. I'm thinking about making cupcakes from scratch.

I paid someone to make a beautiful cake for DD's 1st.
I plan on ordering DS' cake too.
Will maybe make cakes from scratch in the future!

DS's was from scratch and a recipe I had to come up with with lots of modifications due to his limited diet.

I wanted to make it from scratch, but I was exhausted and just bought a box. I prefer from scratch though.

My friend made our smash cake from scratch; however, I'm a box-baker. Haha. I'm planning my own little "smash cake" photo shoot for tomorrow morning, and I made a boxed chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.

@Orvis18: you will not regret it, especially if your LO loves yogurt as much as mine does! I didn't get the frosting to look as perfect as in those photos, but that may also be because we somehow ended up with nonfat Greek yogurt. I'm sure full fat would have been thicker. We didn't want to use honey yet, so we used maple cream to sweeten the frosting instead.
