What would it sell? I would open a drive thru hot pretzel place. My hot pretzel cravings are out of control right now.

@loveisstrange: ooh that sounds fun! I would do that too! I'd also love to have accessories too.

I would sell candy and snacks from different countries all over the world.

I would do a combo coffee cafe with an attached used/vintage bookstore. That would the the main floor, and then upstairs would be a super cute seating area with couches, comfy chairs, and eclectic touches. And it would be open until midnight for all the night owls like myself who need a place to study
I've put a lot of thought into this!

@matador84: ! Perfect!
I think I would have a gallery/brewery/coffee shop So, your idea with some high end art thrown in. But the coffee and beer is what matters!
@swedishfish: that sounds really really really good. With cheese sauce.

@swedishfish: that was the snack a few days ago at LO's daycare, I was jealous (and not pregnant)!

A clothing and accessories boutique.
I would sell affordable (but not cheesy) stuff that was super cute and on trend.
Like the fun boutique shopping experience without the crazy price tag. Because, who likes malls?

A small gluten/ allergen free place. Dh and I have discussed it a few times. I hate going out to dinner because I have to be so careful.

A drive through place with healthy options. Or a bakery. Lol totally opposite.

I'd open a hostel in a little town somewhere on the East Coast of Australia with a leave-one take-one book table and amazing coffee!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I'd open an open air cafe that you can bring your dogs to!
Or a wedding planning place

I would rather have a restaurant , so I would open a store that sold wine/beer and picnic goods with a great deli/prepped foods section.

@loveisstrange: I worked part time at an Alfred Angelo and non-sample-size brides were always pleasantly shocked that we carried almost every dress in a size 18 or 20 to try on...! One thing I really really loved about that place. It was so easy to find at least one dress that every single bride loved how she looked in it.. even if it wasn't "the one", she liked how it looked on her which is so great.

I would open a store to sell my handmade crafts! Then I would work in that store, and I would just be sewing all day long! A girl can dream right?
watermelon / 14467 posts
Fabric and handmade crafts!
@MrsBrewer: Could I work at your store too? That sounds like the perfect job.
persimmon / 1404 posts
Something wedding related, I loved planning my wedding and I would love to have somewhere in this city where you can go to get everything you need for your wedding.
coconut / 8854 posts
@avivoca: You are hired! It would totally be a family friendly store too, so if you have children you can bring them along too! We can have crafts ready and lined up for them to do!
bananas / 9899 posts
We already did open a store. We sell websites, from simple ones to ones with really complicated functionality, ecommerce, SEO, ect.
DH has a dream of one day opening a pub... but I hated working in a restaurant so I think I'll let him handle that himself lol.

@loveisstrange: me too! I have wanted a wedding dress shop for so long!

@MrsRcCar: You don't happen to be in the Boston area, do you? I just stumbled on this little gluten-free bakery in Belmont that has pizza at lunch every day: http://www.glutenusminimus.com/
I'd probably go with a book store/pub - reading + wine!
honeydew / 7091 posts
@Mrs. Pen: Get outta here! That's my same exact dream!! (except all one level, but now I'm thinking a two-story would be awesome!)

I would also love to open a store where I refinish cheap furniture and sell it for amazing profits. Just get to play in my workshop all day long working on painting/sanding/staining furniture and trolling Craigslist!!
pomegranate / 3127 posts
Two stores!!!
An online crafts store, and one of those food stores where they also sell salads and hot food. There's definitely a demand in my old college town, and some vacant storefronts. Just have to convince DH to move there

I would want to run a low overhead franchise like Domino's.
pomegranate / 3580 posts
Coffee shop because I worked at one in college and am familiar with it. I'd also want it to have a big bakery component to it. My town has nothing like that.
