When did you start dreaming about your own room? I want my girls to share a room if we have a 3rd LO but DH is against it.....I think they might like it for a few years?

I shared a room with my sister until I was 6, and then we moved and we each got our own room. I never really imagined having my own room, but I'm sure my sister did
She is 7 years older than me.

I shared a room with my sister from age 2 until 22! It never really bothered me all that much.

I shared with my sister forever, and she's 5 years older than me. I especially loved it when she was a teenager...her, not so much.

I shared a room with my brother until I went to college! Didn't really mind...

My parents moved my things into my sister's room one weekend when I was away. I was 11 or so and she was about 4. They turned my room into a sitting room. I was so angry that they did that behind my back. So I daydreamed about my own room immediately!
I shared with my brother's when I was at my mom's until I was 14. There was only two bedrooms in our apartment so I had to share. I didn't mind there.

When I hit puberty, I wanted my own space. I was very modest. But I'm so glad I did have the experience of sharing a room with my sister for all those years!

I shared a room with my sister but it didn't bother me too much, we shared until I was in fifth grade or so. We got separate rooms when my brother went to college, so my poor brother didn't have a room anymore!

I never liked sharing a room! I didn't have to for long, just the time between when my baby sister was born and we moved to a bigger house. I like to be alone often and have quiet time. My sister just didn't want her kid sister hanging around. So we didn't like it one bit!

I shared a room until I went away. I'm sure there were times I wanted my own room but I didn't dream about it and it didn't really bother me. When I had my own room in college it felt weird!

I only shared for one year of my life while my parents were building a new house. We rented a small house and I had to share with BOTH of my younger sisters.
We didn't fight much, but the room was a freaking disaster all of the time between my clothes, my younger sister's beanie babies, and my other sister's Barbies.
I was 10 when we moved into our new house and I got my own room again. I couldn't have shared any longer!!!

I shared a room until I was 10 or 12. I definitely wanted my own room by then, but I didn't mind at all before that.

We shared until I entered middle school in 6th grade. Prior to that I never thought about having my own room - I didn't mind. I enjoyed it and I think it made us bond more, so I plan to have my kids share until they're in middle school too. As soon as J drops to a 1 nap schedule I'll move them into the same room.

I had my own room until I was I think 9 or 10. Then I had to share a room with my step sister and I hated it! I wanted my own room back as soon as she moved in. I eventually did get my own room again when I was a freshman and my parents remodeled the house to convert a space into a bedroom. Then my 2 step sisters had to share a room.
I think because I already had my own room and then had to share it with a step sister is why I hated it so much. If I had always shared a room, it probably would not have been a big deal.

Sis and I are 4 years apart (I'm older). I don't remember when we started sharing, but it's all I can remember when I was younger. We moved to a bigger house when I was between 7th and 8th grade so we got our own rooms then. We still slept in the same room together for another couple months until we could get used to being apart
So, I never dreamed about my own room. We even shared a bed!
I really want my kids to share rooms, but we have enough rooms to spread them out, so I think they would resist it

my sisters (twins) are 2.5 years younger than me. I shared rooms on and off with one or both of them until I moved out for college. it never bothered me. they didn't like sharing with each other (they got sick of being lumped as "the twins" all the time, and wanted separation). i don't remember ever wishing for my own room. it might have helped that I had my own room previously?
from 8 y/o - 10 y/o all 4 of us kids shared one room. 2 sets of bunk beds in one room. that was less than fun, but necessary, so we survived!

I insisted on sharing a room with my younger sister from the time that we were 6 and 3 until we were 9 and 6. I had all these dreams of bunk beds, walkie talkies, and slumber parties. We didn't get along all the time, and I definitely bossed her around occasionally, but we never really had any problems sharing a space - our room was also very large. I think a lot of it was that we were both girls, and had absolutely no need for privacy for those few years. I started wanting my own spot for playdates by the time I was in fourth grade, which is when I moved into my own room.

@mrsjazz: Same here. We were 4 years apart. It was so strange to be in my own room ALL BY MYSELF when I got to undergrad!
We really loved sharing a room, though. Once my sister and I were both at the same university again (undergrad/grad school), we shared an apartment and would still talk through our bedroom doors at night until we fell asleep.
