I think that's a good idea! You'll burn the same amount of calories, the only major difference is the amount of continuous elevated HR time but that's not a huge deal. If it means you'll be able to work out more often, then do it!

If it works for your schedule I would totally do it!
I think the only time it makes a difference is with a HITT workout where the purpose is to keep an elevated heart rate, otherwise, your calorie burn should be the same. I used to split workouts and for some reason, it also helped me with mindless snacking....
