I'm so sorry. I think it's up to you if you want to see someone. It seems like the advice on how long to wait varies. We were told just one cycle so maybe you could ask an OB about starting sooner.

I would definitely see an OB and inquire about testing if you want it. I was diagnosed with a treatable clotting issue after my second mc, and I'm SO glad I did because it enabled me to carry to term with my third pregnancy. I also got extra monitoring which was very helpful for my worrisome mind

We were only told to wait one cycle with natural mc.

Please see an OB. Even if you want to look around a bit for a new one, it is really important. Have you seen someone since you r most recent loss? After my second, my doctor said I could wait a bit to come in and discuss next steps, but since I had an appointment lined up the following week, I went n pretty quickly.

My doctor drew a bunch of blood work-I know he checked prolactin and thyroid. He also did an HSG to check my tubes and flush out my system. I also asked about clotting disorders and am on a baby aspirin regimen for that. @Mrs. Someone has also had two losses, and I know her doctor is running a bunch of tests as well. You might send her a message to see what they all are, or maybe she will chime in here.

We were told to take one month off, and I got pregnant the next cycle (a few weeks ago). Waiting was the hardest thing ever, but since my losses were back to back, my body was so nutrient depleted and off kilter hormone wise that it was 100% the right decision. During the time off, I also had progesterone draws done, and I'm now on prometrium during this pregnancy as well. I also know that the second mc completely wrecked me emotionally. I had a horrible time coping, and it has only been with counseling and medication that I was able to feel more normal again.

This is really, really hard stuff. And to me, the second one is so much harder because not only are you grieving a loss, but I also.felt like I was in a strange new world.where nothing made sense and everything was scary. I had no idea what came next, and I questioned everything. I still do-I was in the hospital this week wondering f i was going to lose a third. But there are lots of wonderful ladies here who have been through this hell and come out on the other side with the ultimate prize: a sweet baby to hold. Please know that you are not alone, and reach out anytime you need!

Alright, I'm back and I have time to really respond. Sorry, I forgot the link above was to a Gold post that you may not be able to read.

First of all, yes please go to a doctor ASAP and get checked out. I know it sucks to continue to be poked and prodded, but its important to make sure everything is going OK. Also, it helps for insurance purposes to "get it on the books" so to speak.

I had my second loss a few weeks ago, at around the same point that you're having it. I found out it was inevitable at just under 5 weeks. Its rough. After the first loss, you're told its a fluke and it happens. But after the second you start to think that something is really wrong.

After my first loss, I started seeing a naturopath. She tested me for low progesterone, MTHFR, and Hashimoto's (knowing I was hypothyroid). I have all three. Unfortunately, treating those three was still not enough to prevent my second m/c.

After the second, she suspected it could be an autoimmune issue, so I was tested for other autoimmune issues (they often compound on eachother). I also had a food sensitivities test. Once everything came back, I was put on baby aspirin (for the autoimmune stuff), a strict diet to eliminate all gluten and other foods I came back as highly sensitive to, as well as an anti-inflammatory powder. The idea is to reduce inflammation in hopes of creating a good environment for implantation. But this is a pretty alternative treatment, as I was recently told by an RE.

The RE suggested karyotyping and a few other genetic tests, but we have decided not to do those at this time since I think many of the tests she suggested would lead to IVF if positive. She also felt the need to tell me that losses just happen with Hashimoto's and there is nothing you can do about it (SO glad I'm seeing the ND instead).

Its different for everyone, but I decided I would rather have as much testing as possible in hopes of preventing this from happening again. It is such an awful thing to go through, especially after trying so long to get pregnant in the first place. Here is a link that LovelyPlum shared with me that was really helpful in describing what to test for after multiple losses.

We were suggested to take a month off after each loss, since they were so early. We didn't after the first and it took another 6 months to get pregnant again. After the second we needed the time off for testing and emotional healing. I would recommend taking at least that one month off, but if you're emotionally ready for it, I don't think more is necessary.
