Without Clomid: CD 18-20
With Clomid: CD 19 (first cycle), CD 17 (2nd and 3rd cycles) BUT I don't think I'm really responding to it. During this monitored cycle I had one mature egg, and I O on my own.

Around day 17 for me, too. Previously i had been around day 14.

@Shutterbug: if you don't mind me asking, what result is the clomid for if you O naturally? Is it to shorten your cycle?

@runnerd: yup, @pui: is right - it's to make me ovulate stronger, and also to lengthen my LP, which unmedicated is about 8-9 days. Also, it's sort of a first step that most REs will take if you have been TTC for a year with no luck - all of our tests came back normal, so we technically have Unexplained Infertility.

@pui: so frustrating, right? Actually, we've had sort of similar paths, because when I first did my testing last October I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and put on Synthroid. I was hoping that would do the trick, but no dice. Clomid is supposed to lengthen your LP by creating a stronger O which releases more progesterone (or something like that). They have me on progesterone suppositories this cycle too, though.

@pui: @shutterbug: hmmm ok, I was just curious since I don't O until CD 21-23 usually, but my LP is 14 days so guess not the same!

@pui: Just out of curiosity, are you being monitored along with your Clomid?

@pui: Day 14 sounded like a guess; it sounds like today or tomorrow should be it, FX for you!

@pui: I think the positive OPK is a fabulous sign that Clomid may work for you! Fingers crossed!

Clomid shortened my cycle by 2-3 days, but lengthened the luteal phase. I ovulated on CD 15, as opposed to my usual CD 18-19.

My RE explained that taking Clomid upped the chances of getting pregnant b/c there's likely to be more than one egg released. I'm glad they monitored me b/c that's how they knew it thinned out my uterine lining.
