We used a masculine name for our first daughter. If number 2 is a boy I'm thinking we will use an extra masculine name for him (William, Timothy, Evan, etc).
I have a friend that used Elliot for her first daughter but then Aaron for her son. I worry the two siblings would get mixed up. Is this a crazy concern?

Yeah if someone told me they had an Elliott and Aaron I'd assume it was girl: Erin and boy: Elliott.
We have friends named Jamie (boy) and his wife (Sam) and when we first met I always mixed them up in my head. lol
I'd say a super obvious boy name is the best bet!

We have a masculine name for our daughter and Bennett is our son. I wouldn't say Bennett is a super masculine name, but I don't think there will be a mix up later in life....
I never thought of this while we were coming up with boys names! hahahaaha

DH, LO and I all have gender neutral names. People may get us all confused but The important people in our lives know who is who. I would name your child whatever you want, in the end he/she will be their own person and won't usually be grouped with a sibling or a family. I have a few names picked out for our next LOs.. some are gender neutral and gender specific.. It'll just be the one we love the most.

@mrbee: I guess mixed up if someone where to meet our family and they were to introduce us by first names. "Hello these are the children Jamie and Morgan".

We have a friend that named their kids Harper and Mason. Harper was the boy, and Mason was the girl. I used to get them mixed up. Still do in my head, so I have to think it through before I call their names.

I don't think it's a crazy concern at all! For all of the examples above I would have gotten the boys and girls mixed up. If I were in your shoes I would choose a very masculine name for a boy.

I wanted to name C Sawyer, which I think is generally a boys name. Our boy name is and always has been Franklin.

At first I wasn't quite sure what you meant, but after reading these responses I can see where they could get mixed up. I agree with some PP--I would choose an obviously masculine name.
