If LO woke themselves up early from their nap, did you rock them back to sleep or just let them be up and hope they'd be more tired and sleep through the next nap?

I try to put paci in and rock. I can tell pretty quickly if he's going back or not.

I try to butt-pat (since she usually ends up on her tummy) to see if she'll fall back asleep

I do everything I can to keep the nap going. They don't really respond to rocking, though. They are fiends for the mid-nap snack though. Exhibit A: Alice passed out on the couch after I nursed her back to sleep. Currently nursing Blake for the second time this nap! (I know it's a bad habit, but they are sick and I am sleep deprived so I'm a little desperate)

@Mae: You say that, but you can't see the red eyes and snot encrusted noses. Baby colds are so glamorous!

@twodoghouse: aw so sad. There were many tears (mostly from me ) when Fiona had her cold. Sick babies are just the saddest!

If she wakes up like after 10 minutes or something ridiculous like that, definitely rock back. But if O baby has already been asleep for 30-45 minutes.....nap is over. I have never been able to get her to go back, so I rarely try anymore. I just get too frustrated!
