I want to be TG, I may bf, and overall I will worry less

I don't think I will change much!

I will still find out gender. I'm waffling on the coffee during pregnancy depending on how hard the fatigue hits me. I am thinking about seeing a midwife instead of a OB. I will still try for a epi free birth but will have no qualms using it like with #1.

I will still breastfeed but work harder to build a stash. I also will like to stay home for 12 weeks or at least keep LO out of daycare until then.

I'll exercise more during pregnancy. I feel like I wouldn't be holding on to as much baby weight if I had been in better shape before and during pregnancy.

I would not be induced again. I was induced and had to have a C-section, so next time I'm just going into labor naturally or scheduling a C-section. Induction didn't work for me last time (stalled at 3) so I feel no great need to try it again.

I would not get pitocin. I had horrible side effects from it. I also might consider a home birth. I wanted one to begin with but DH wasn't on board. He said he would be with a second though. Either way I would not have the same OB. I ended up not being very happy with her in the end.

I'll exercise more while pregnant, see a midwife, not stress so much over epi or not. Mostly, I will draw on my own experience and intuition more so than "experts."

@rachiecakes: I didn't know your LO was born with a collapsed lung! How is he now??

I'd like to be TG but I don't know if I'll be able to hold out the whole pregnancy. I'd also like to have a midwife instead of an OB and will consider a birth center, as opposed to a hospital setting. I was able to have a med free birth, but not without a lot of pressure from the staff to have an epidural and pitocin. Otherwise, I think I would do it all the same.

I'm hoping to keep things pretty much the same with my second LO! We're TG again (the preference of both of us, although I did waver on finding out this time) and I'm hoping for another super easy delivery with this one, complete with an amazing epi! I have zero desire to go though childbirth without medication and I'm hoping things go just as smoothly as they did with E!

Really, I want everything to be exactly the same - easy pregnancy with no uncomfortableness, easy labour with baby born on her due date, no issues BF'ing, and a baby who sleeps through the night by 2.5 months. Am I dreaming if I think I can get that lucky twice?!?

I will likely see a midwife next time around, and give birth at our birth center, again. We loved our experience there.

Even though I ended up with some traumatic side effects from a botched epidural, I'm still pro-epi. My daughter was born about an hour after I received my epidural, and it was a wonderful, relatively pain-free experience.

Last but not least, I hope to EBF my second. There wasn't really anything I could do about my low supply (and I tried it all), but I'm hopeful things might be different for me, next time.

I will try to gain less - carbs killed me in my first tri bc I was so sick!
I will also switch OBs. Mine thinks natural unmedicated birth is stupid, and she made me push before I was ready. I had so many complications I can't help but wonder if that contributed to my problems.

@locavore_mama: He was in such an awkward position they didn't think I would be able to birth him vaginally. They tried to turn him and with the help of the vacuum and a gigantic episiotomy, I was able to but he did have a collapsed lung and his Apgar was a "2"
We stayed in the hospital for almost a week but he's great. He was a big boy at 8lbs 2oz and recovered quickly.

I would do everything the same, except try and not gain as much weight next time.

I'll have a scheduled c since my doctor doesn't think I'm a candidate for a vbac. I certainly won't spend all that time researching and planning a natural birth lol. Other than that, I don't think I'll do much differently. I like feeling as in control as possible so I'll keep with the same types of restrictions, except maybe allowing myself a small amount of caffeine!

I'll be more proactive about my ITP so that I can hopefully get an epidural next time!

And I'll try not to gain as much weight, haha.

First time I went with an obgyn, found out, and while I *wanted* a natural, low intervention birth I got an intervention heavy cesarean delivery.

Second time around we didn't find out, I was significantly more informed on the process of birth so I went with a midwife, planned an hbac, and got a vbac.

This time I'm planning another hbac (different MW) and still feel very strongly about not taking the risk of inhibiting the process of birth by unnecessary interventions... we also aren't finding out again.

I will have a scheduled c-section next time. No labouring for 23.5 hrs only to end up with a section anyway, I have no desire to attempt vbac.

I will also try to make more of my mat leave and do a bunch of travelling. I only travelled once while I was off, should have done more.

I will work on losing the weight much earlier. I waited endlessly with DD because I was so focused on maintaining supply.

If I could have the exact same birth, I'd take it. Minus the terrible cold I had. Things would have been so much better if I could have breathed! I held off as long as I could to get the epi, so I'm happy that I actually got to feel real contractions... although I wouldn't have said it at the time. My epi was perfect. I could still move and feel... it just didn't hurt... so hard to explain. I only pushed for like 30-40 minutes. Baby was perfect, nursing went well..... it was still difficult... but we figured it out.

I found out the gender last time... and will next time too. Not knowing would drive me crazy.

My LO is only 3 months old, but I think about this a lot. We were TG, and it was wonderful, but I kinda want to know what it's like to know who's inside me for half of my pregnancy, so we may find out next time. I had a pain-med-free birth, and while I'm very happy with my experience and I know I could do it again, I am not dead set against trying an epidural next time. I know a couple moms who had an epidural after a natural birth, and I get that. But, I'm not going to worry about it. I stressed so much about labor & delivery during my pregnancy. I will relax, enjoy my pregnancy, eat better and walk more next time!

I had a pretty easy delivery with lo so hoping it will be mostly the same for number 2 - but hoping to go into labor naturally and without an induction. Also planning to transfer to a birth center after birth (if all goes well) because my after care in hospital last time was horrible. Also hoping to use water for pain relief next time.
