...what is your job? Or general industry if you don't want to say exact position. I work at home 4 days a week and go into the office once a week - I'm an analyst with a government agency. I love having the option to do this - it makes juggling kids, home, and work so much more doable for me. I know teleworking is becoming more and more common in general now, but I'm curious about other types of jobs or industries that allow this.

I go into the office a handful of times a month. I actually really enjoy my office days, but the commute (1 hour for 17 miles during heavy traffic both ways) is not worth it.

Customer Engagement & Project/Marketing Manager for a video conferencing/teleconferencing company. I WFH 5 days/40 hours a week. All day, errrr day. It's starting to drive me insane.

I do freelance curriculum writing aboutique 20 hours per week and am about to start a job with a nonprofit that will also mostly be work from home. The job is 20 hours and about 15 of them I have the option to be in office or remote.

software developer. 3 days at home 2 days in the office. WAH seriously keeps me sane! i can do extra chores those days and i dont have to worry about my monster commute which is about 1.5 hr on office days

I run a graphic design & brand strategy studio.
I work 4 days a week, when LO is at preschool. It works out to about 31 hours per week. I take Fridays off with her, and work during her nap.
I could work 50 hours, but this is what works for now.

Government auditor. We were able to tw unlimited per our cba, but they just cut us back to 2x per week. TW'ing really makes such a difference with quality of life.

Attorney for a small law firm. I WAH most days and then a few days a month I go to Court/ the office. This is a very unique arrangement though - but I'm working for my father's firm so it's allowed

@HabesBabe I'm also going slightly insane! As much as I LOVE my work situation, I feel like my social skills are becoming worse the longer I do this!

I'm a manager on a software development team. I currently do one day a week from home but it will probably be twice a week when I return from maternity leave.

I don't have an office to ever go to, as I cover all hospitals in my state. -
IT Consultant for a software company. FT 5days/40hours from home. There is a local office that I can go into if I want to get out of the house, but noone from my team is based there.

I'm somewhere between an IT and business consultant. I work at home with a business trip thrown in here or there. I'll increase my working hours next month and then will fly into HQ once a week/three weeks a month. (I'll still be PT though).

DH works frim home FT. He's a teacher by trade but now works in an educational resources company. He WOH only when he's tutoring or teaching a class.

@MamaBehr: I do some for my local school district but mostly for a company called nextlesson. They aren't taking new authors right now, possibly because my supervisor just returned from maternity leave this week. But they might be soon! There's a jobs page on the website.

Financial technology. I wfh one day every week or two by choice. I manage a large team and that is easier to do in person. If I was a project manager on the team, I could probably get away with two days per week, and maybe even negotiate for more since I have proven myself.
I worked from home two days per week for three months following my maternity leave, and it made the transition much easier.

@fussygal: yes! I've been telecommuting for the past 3 years. It's been great and flexible and I lI've being around to see my babies, but it's starting to make me feel so lonely and isolated. And I don't get dressed, so I feel so frumpy.

Wedding and portrait photographer! I have office days for emailing, post production, etc (aka the boring business stuff) and then my on location days for shooting.

I don't now, but until a little over a year ago, I owned a bridal accessories business and wholesaled my pieces to Nordstrom, as well as sold them in various boutiques and in my own shop. I did that from home, designed and handcrafted each piece, mostly at night when my kids had gone to bed.
Now, I'm working on some projects: a photo thing, and a book, but not really a true "job" with any set hours.

I'm a self-employed translator. I would estimate that at least 2/3 of translators are self-employed and WFH (or at least, not in a real office setting).
