Yep. Not often but I worked in a coffee shop last wk and work sometimes at my mom's ... I like my home office the best tho.

Work doesnt care

I work from home 2-3 days a week, and I've asked my manager if I can work remotely from my parent's house for a week at a time this summer. She's fine with it. I've done it in the past where I needed to check for news and post something on the website only if something came in over Christmas, and that was fine too.

Once the weather gets better, I might go to the park to work, especially if I'm proofing something. Sometimes a different environment helps me pick up errors in the text that I wouldn't notice at home.

I also need two computer screens. It makes me go cross-eyed if I have to use my main software on my laptop screen for too long instead of my big flat screen. In theory, I wouldn't mind working in a cafe because the noise doesn't bother me, but logistically it doesn't work so well.

I'd feel weird working at a coffee shop if someone needs to get a hold of me.

I had a friend who would travel to Hawaii, Mexico, etc. and work since he was classified as a mobile worker. Not sure his director would have been happy to know where he was actually working from!

Well we have an office that I go into for meetings. But when working remotely (which I do 99% of the time), I almost always work from home. I just don't like working in public places personally, although my boss would have no issue with it. And I have done it a few times when my internet was on the fritz. Also I tend to work on vacations/visits to family since "work from home" also = "work any time there is work to do regardless of the day/time" for me... so I work in other people's houses too.

@MrsD2442: I'm a lawyer (civil litigation). We are not a volume practice (i.e. I don't have 400 low budg cases, I have like 10 higher value ones) so I don't have a TON of meetings or court appearances, and whenever I don't have to be somewhere in person I work at home. Almost everything I do is on my laptop so I can do that from anywhere.

Same as @autumnlove: I could but I would be way less efficient.
