Does your computer belong to work or is it your own computer?
I have a work Acer laptop that worked really well the first 1.5 years but it has been giving me issues lately. I saw my first blue screen of death this morning but I restarted and things are slower than usual.
It might be time for a new machine!

We have the option of using our own computer or taking our work laptop home. I usually use my work computer because it is just easier... except that right now I am sitting on the floor connected through the hard wire because our firewall is not allowing me WiFi access. Grrrrrrrr.

I'd try reformatting first, but if it's work's machine I'd let them decide if they want to just get a new one for you.
When I worked from home I used my own machine.

@pui: Oh yeah, they def won't buy a new computer unless it is the last resort!

@autumnlove: blue screen of death - this made me smile. I haven't said that phrase in awhile. At my old job I primarily worked at the clients office and had a laptop I took with me. The blue screen of death was almost a daily occurrence towards the end.

I got a laptop because I used to travel for work. Not everyone gets one. I don't travel nearly as much anymore. Because I have one, I can work from home. It's a company laptop and I think I can upgrade it every 3 years or something. I wasn't picky so I had my last laptop for 4 years before they upgraded me. I think it was part of the windows upgrade.

Work computer. They put in new security measures that makes it a pain to work from a different machine.

I use my own, but IT can do tech support when I'm having trouble. Can you take yours to IT? Maybe it just needs some stuff removed that's running in the background... ads and spyware and all that good stuff.

I work 50/50 at home and in office so use my own machine at home. I would hate carting my work laptop back and forth. However, I just Remote Desktop into my work machine so my personal laptop just serves as a screen, keyboard and web service.

I only work from home occasionally, but I use my work laptop. They make us take them home every night for security reasons anyway.

I work a freelancer so I have my own computer, but one of my clients has loaned me an extra monitor and some other equipment.
