My LO is 4.5 months and she was good in the car for the first 4 months but the last two weeks have been rough! So much screaming... 
She currently uses the Chicco Keyfit 30.
Did your LO hate the car? Was it a long or short phase? Do you have any secret tips that I can try?

Ugh. With C, she hated it til I took the inserts out of her Chicco seat!
Then I tried a Britax click tight and she screamed like she was being tortured - I avoided driving her anywhere at all costs. I returned it and she was totally fine back in the Chicco (and later, the graco my ride).
Solidarity! It sucks!

DS is 9mo, and he's gone through many phases of hating it, not minding it, hating it, and now it's just totally unpredictable! I'd also love to know others' experiences!

@autumnlove: We switched my DD to a convertible seat at 5 months because she hated the bucket and would just scream the whole time we went somewhere in the car. But she was like that pretty much right from the get go. I think it made her reflux worse. She was happier after the switch because she could also see out the window.

Our dd HATES being in the car - regardless of the seat she's in. But I will say, she does do better in dh's truck (maybe the vibration).

Both of mine hated the car until about 4-5 months. It helped if I played kiddy music or held their hand (awkward doing it while they are rear facing)

We have better success in convertible seats! Less hot and sunken in, I think. More to see out the window

@blackbird: @mrswin: maybe I can switch my almost 4 year old to a new seat (I have no idea what is next...some booster?) so LO 3 can use her Britax Blvd. LO 1 is on the shorter end so the Britax still works for her!

@autumnlove: Is there an opportunity for you to test her out in a convertible before making the switch? That way if it doesn't make a difference you can leave your 4yo in her seat longer since she still fits ok

@autumnlove: We had the same experience as @mrswin: with our reflux baby and switched him around 7 months. His main seat is a maxi-Cosi pria and it's very plush and comfy!

DS is 2 and he has hated the car since birth. Sadly its only gotten worse with time. He hates being constrained in any way - fought the swaddle, hates car seat/high chair or being in his room for nap. Also climbed out of his crib the second he was strong enough. It makes it really hard for us to go anywhere because he will scream like crazy the entire trip, which is absolutely maddening (seriously - my fil even had to take a break when we were only going 10 minutes away!) but I figure he has to outgrow it one day! Either that or when he gets his license he can scream away alone in the car!

My LO is 15 months and HATES the car. Doesn't matter what seat, he hates being tied down.
Nothing has worked

@autumnlove: My sympathy. Nothing more annoying than screaming kids in the car! For us also the inserts were the culprit. Once those were out both went back to being fine in the car seat!

DD doesn't like car rides either. She gets bored of playing with whatever after a while, the only two things that keep her happy are snacks and videos.

@mrswin: yes, I can test it out when my toddlers are at preschool on Wed and Friday! I think I will try the Chicco without the head cushion first!
