aw, my best friend's LO is like that, too - hates the beach. I think it's the wind/sun/sand/water, is just too overwhelming for him. We keep trying every summer though! (he's going to be 3 in October).

My son has started to hate shopping lol

I'd say try to find a compromise - take her to the beach, but bring some stuff there she likes and maybe get one of those little beach canopy tents that have a bottom to them so she's not forced to sit in the sand.

We haven't run into this yet, but as a kid the big thing we had like this was that I hated roller coasters. My moms compromise was that I would still go with them (we live not far from Cedar Point) but I didn't have to ride and they'd go on some stuff I liked too. My dad didn't want to compromise and would make me feel like I was spoiling everyone's fun even though I never complained about waiting in line with them and just stepping out of it at the end. It was the worst. I came around, but not until I was older and had been with people who didn't coax and guilt trip.

My dd HATED the beach her first summer - poor thing was 7 months old before she even saw grass so sand was a big shocker. We live like 2 mins from the beach and my family has a summer cottage there so girl had to get used to it and fast. I ended up walking her in the stroller lots on the beach, putting a blanket down for her to play on, and at home I had a bucket of sand for her to get used to the texture. This summer she is almost 2 and LOVES it - I can't keep her away !
