Subscribing! I've been thinking about putting lo in daycare part time so that I can have more time to myself (new years resolution) and so lo can get used to being away from me. A mommy friend of mine did this over the summer and her lo is now alwayyyyys sick so i've been reluctant to pull the trigger.

I hope not. I think the baby has been exposed to a lot of school germs already from her big sis so I hope she will be ok when she starts a toddler program.

I'm curious too. J hasn't been in daycare yet but may be starting later this year dependent upon our circumstances. He would be about 2.5. I'd like to think that because he eats well it has strengthened his immune system but I'm sure many children who eat lots of fruits/veggies still get sick a lot.

Yes, he's sick a lot and misses a ton of school. Started between 2.5 and 3 years old.

@pinkcupcake: I'm a SAHM and my LO is 26 months. We do a to of activities during the week - play gym, music, play cafe, swimming, museum, play dates, zoo, and various art classes or story times at the library.

I started her in a 2s class this fall and she had a regular cold at the start and caught a severe case of croup (ER trip) but other than that she's been super healthy. She only goes for 1.5 hours twice a week. I think you are involved in lots of activities then it's similar to exposing them to preschool level germs. As they get older you do more and more activities so I don't think it's a huge concern that they'll get overwhelmed by germs when they go into preschool
