If your LO was the opposite gender, what would his/her name be?

We actually don't know. I was pretty sure it was a girl. We tried to decide on a boy's name just in case but we never really came to agreement on one we both really loved. Luckily she was a girl so it worked out.

We were very happy she was a girl because we were having a tough time with boy names! But I think she would have been Carson Paul.

@Mrs. Jacks: If that whole medicine thing doesn't work out for you I really think you should start a consulting firm where you help people name their children.

    Garrett Malone or
    Braden Malone

Saving those for #2 in case it's a boy! Malone is a family middle name in DHs family...

Ds would have been Carly, but I couldn't figure out a middle name for that...once we knew it was a boy, I threw the girl name list out the window, lol

If S was a boy, it would have been Matthew Lee...Still saving the first name for a next kid. I'm starting to change my tune on a middle name, though.

The name we are using for the little girl I'm currently pregnant with No matter which order, if we had a boy and a girl, it would have been the same two names.

@MamaMoose: I totally want to do it on the side. I spend hours thinking about these things just for fun! I try to take into account so many aspects of the family and the sound of the name.

I know I've contributed to the name of at least one baby here and to one of my co-workers. I wouldn't know how to really get myself out there and I can't imagine that the people who would pay me for my skills would be the kind of people who would give a rats patootie about what I think! But if you have ideas about how I can achieve this, let me know!

Alden if she was a boy- we'll probably use it if we have a boy next time!

If our son had been a girl, we would have gone with Emery or Rory. I also like Fay and Nelly but my husband wasn't into those We're keeping them all on the list in case we have a girl someday.

I can't handle "unique" names, so mine are totally boring, but if we have a girl someday, it will be Hannah Marie or Audrey Kathleen or Natalie Marie.

I had ventured into very unique naming territory when we found out we were having a girl. A less common spelling of Orville was at the top of my list. Ya know, because Orville is way too common.

I know DH would have made me dial it back about 3 levels of "uniqueness."

We probably would have gone with Lily Howard. We were going to choose Howard as a middle name regardless of gender, as it is my late FIL's name.

@bisous: I really like Garrett! Although, I told DH that he could name the next LO.

Oooo! ETA: I really liked Vaughn, but never could get DH on board.

He would have been Liviana Jen. Hubs's grandmother's name was Jenny, and we didn't really like Liviana Jenny, so we'd just use Jen instead. We're saving it for possible baby #2.

If LO was a boy, she would be James Michael, after her father and grandfathers. Also, that would have been my name if I were a boy..

If she would have been a boy her name would have been Jack Ryan. Not sure if we will keep that name for a potential future boy.

@lawbee11: I love this name, I know someone IRL with it. DS's middle name is Henry. DH hates James though.

It would've been Anna Zoey. We'll probably still use it if #2 is a girl.

If baby girl turns out to be a boy (uh...surprise!) in a few weeks, the name will be Samuel Warren. Samuel after the verse in 1 Samuel 1:27 (For this child I prayed, and God heard my prayer), and Warren after FIL who passed recently.

E would have been Josie or Alice..

Probably Alexander (Alex) Herbert. Luke, Lucas, and Oliver were also on our short list for first names. Herbert would be the middle name no matter what for DH's father.
