No, no, no, no! We lived with my ILs for 9 months and occasionally my MIL would just swoop in, take our clothes and wash them without asking (even though I am always on top of laundry). I hated it. I hate having people go through my dirty laundry and I've been doing my own laundry since I was 11.

As long as she asked first I'd love it! If she just went into our closet and got the laubdry I would be pretty uncomfortable.

HATE it. She came over one time to watch D when he was sick. I had baskets of laundry sitting outside of our laundry closet. She asked if I wanted her to do them. I told her, no, they were clean. I came home and she'd folded them. My underwear and bras and other stuff. NO.

I think that's weird.. I don't want anyone doing my laundry but me!

With my own MIL, that would be great! I have an awesome MIL who has really great boundaries and is so helpful with chores but always asks how I personally like things done before doing them.
BUT, I totally get how in general this would be weird.

Underwear! Keep your hands off my underwear!
But I could see how the intention behind it would be nice, especially, say, with a new baby around.
My MIL would never to that, though.

Not love or hate... Appreciate while cringing. Ha. My MIL did some laundry while she was here last and I cringed majorly that she did my underwear. But I knew it was a kind gesture and appreciated it.

I wouldn't mind if my mom did it (I mean, she's folded my clothes before, and she taught me how to fold boxers). And I'm pretty sure she'd ask first. I did some of her laundry while she was on vacation recently and I was staying at her house.
But I do think it'd be weird if my MIL did it. But I could never imagine her taking that initiative.

No thanks! MIL can't follow directions.
When I was on bed rest, I asked my mom to help out with my laundry and that was fab. She takes really good care of her clothing and I knew she would do the same with ours. I put my dirty undies separately and I had my husband do those because that was where I drew the line.

She's done it a few times and I have no problem with! But I'm also not that particular about laundry - it always seems to come out fine.

I appreciate when she does the sheets and towels they use if they leave in the afternoon (though she always at least throws them in the wash even when they leave early.) Beyond that, I'd find it invasive. But my mom occasionally does our laundry (she does grandma care), and it doesn't bother DH!

No, I would be very annoyed. I am very particular about my laundry and how it gets washed and what gets air dried. Plus I love doing laundry!

I don't see it as a big deal, I would appreciate it, but I'd prefer she relax instead of work when she does get the chance to visit.

Invite her over more often.
But seriously, I would love if when MIL came over to "help" she actually did help. Instead of me cleaning up around her.

I'd love it!
When MIL has been to visit she'll usually help by folding or she cleans the kitchen/floors. She lives fr away though, so this doesn't happen often.

Hate it. I have my ways with laundry and I don't like anyone helping. I would appreciate the thought and effort, though!

No no no. I would definitely feel weird if MIL was all up in my dirty clothes lol
