M is 13 months and we still mainly wash her stuff separate even though we use the same detergent. But every now and then a bib or sock gets into ours. I still just find it easier bc her clothes are so tiny it will get lost in DH's clothes!

We don't separate her clothes. We all wash in All free and clear soap and it's been fine for her. No real need to separate if you are using the same detergent.

We still keep it seperate for the same reason. Its just easier

We don't separate his clothes, although Hubs does his own laundry, so his stuff and the baby's generally don't get washed together. I'll often throw my clothes in with the baby's though because he doesn't have a TON of clothes and won't make a full load if I don't add some of my stuff to it.

I wash her stuff about every fourth day and we have different water levels so it's no big deal. And usually it is a pretty full load if not I throw in blankets, crib sheets, etc.

I think I'll always keep it separated because it's just easier that way.

We've never separated it and have never had any problems except the occasional baby sock going missing...though socks like to do that

We keep hers separate because it's easier. Once in a while I'll throw some of my stuff in with hers but not the other way around. Wittle tiny socks get lost in a ocean of big-people clothes!

DD/DS' clothes are washed separate but only because I have a hamper in their room and it is an entire load when full. If something gets mixed in with my/DH's clothes I don't worry about it because I wash everything in the same detergent.

I only did that for like the first month - then i got lazy and started tossing it all in together. I like the thought of a 'baby wash' but it was just too time consuming!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
We have never separated her clothes! We wash in the same detergent so it's not a problem. The only thing I've ever lost have been socks but that's normal for baby or adult socks.

Oh this will go on for quite some time. I don't even wash mine and DH's clothes together. I like doing laundry so no worries about extra loads.

I stopped after about 4 months, after I stopped buying Dreft and started washing her stuff in Free & Clear like ours.
pomegranate / 3452 posts
I've never separated unless he just happens to have a full load with blankets and such. I find it easier to just combine and deal with it all at once b

I've always washed our clothes together. LO has sensitive skin so I like to wash my clothes in the free and clear detergent too.
coconut / 8498 posts
We still wash hers separate just becaus it's easier. We use the same detergent for all of our clothes, but I like not having to separate her stuff from ours. It's just one load a week.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
I stopped separating when there weren't so many food particles stuck on my son's clothing, about the same time we moved, 22 months.

I've never separated them. We've probably lost a sock here or there but it's so much easier to do it all together.

Still separate at 9 months. We have a laundry hamper in his room, so as we're changing him, it gets thrown in there. On laundry day, I just take it out, do his first, then the rest of the laundry.

I wash theirs separately even though we use the same detergent. There are two of them so enough to make a full load.
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
We never separated. We just all washed in the same detergent.

Hmm.. we still separate at 14 months. I end up washing DD's clothes much more often b/c her clothes get dirty faster than mine. I should start consolidating some of our washes though...

I've never separated her clothes. We wash everything in All Free & Clear.
pomegranate / 3858 posts
We separate at 6 months bc we do her laundry more often than ours...
pear / 1554 posts
Separate... she has her own hamper so it's just easier to do it separate.
persimmon / 1081 posts
We've never separated our clothes. DD's clothes are so small it would take a while to get a full load.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
I've never really separated them until recently actually. We used to have to use community laundry so shoving as much in as possible was the plan. Now, she has her own laundry basket in her room so I usually do it separate. I made the mistake of putting our sheets in with her changing pad cover last week and it turned her pad a different color...oops!

Like @WALLAROO: with twins, there is always enough for a load of just baby stuff every other day, so its easier to keep separate.
DH and I do ours separately now too becaise it's just more efficient for us to have the loads/baskets pre sorted per person.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
I never did this! We use the same detergent, so didn't seem necessary.
pomelo / 5524 posts
We separate since we still use different detergent for his. And the only reason we still use different detergent is because we were gifted a bunch of dreft at our shower and haven't been able to go through it fast enough! We'll also do his laundry about every 4 days and have enough with blankets, crib sheets, etc to have a full load every time!
nectarine / 2127 posts
I use the same detergent on everything but its just easier to separate. He has a hamper in his room and once it's full or we run out of something, I do a load.
I'm horrible about putting away laundry so this makes it easier
pineapple / 12053 posts
like PPs, we never separated. her clothes are so tiny that they don't take up much room!
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
For now it just seems easier to keep them separate. That way I can dump our laundry in our bedroom to fold and her laundry in her bedroom to fold. Less separating later.
nectarine / 2274 posts
We did for maybe a month after DS. Now we wash everybody's clothes together since we all use the same detergent.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
@regberadaisy: we still separate at 13 months as well because of that reason! his stuff gets lost amongst ours! but with #2 arriving shortly we'll have more little clothes than big clothes probably!
