Just wondering... if your SO passed, would you want access to their email account? I don't mean for account info and the like... I mean, to read their email correspondence with other people.
I wouldn't want to... what if there was something in there I didn't like? That would break anyone's heart, I think.

I have all of his passwords. He stores them all in a program called "one password."
He uses email for business mostly so I would probably go through and respond to emails

I already have access to his account - we both know all of each others passwords and we always leave our emails/facebooks/accounts open on our computers. Neither of us are snoopy and constantly checking up on the other, but I like the openness. We both know nothing is ever going on. I think I'd be able to tell if he all of a sudden got secretive - leaving his accounts locked and changing passwords. Then I'd be curious!
So that said - I already have access 
Also I would find it healing to read his letters and notes and remember him that way.

I already have access! The only passwords I don't know are for his work accounts. I'd probably want access but that all belongs to his work, not himself, even if the emails are of a personal nature.

Not at all. What if I found something I didn't like and he's not there to explain it away? I fully trust DH, but what if it made me question him? I would rather forgo the agony of that.

I would *now*, but when my husband and I first got married, I still had emails from years and years and years ago (I've had the same email since my first year of college--and I'm 32), and there were some things in there with 'sensitive" information.
I once asked my hubs to retrieve something from my personal email and send it to my work email (my personal email is blocked at work), and when he was using the search function looking for that particular email, came upon some super old emails (and read them, which was naughty--but I would probably do the same if subject titles like "hey sexy" popped up) and got hurt feelings over long-ago stuff.
So. I did a major cleanup of my email (as far as I know), and tried to delete every single old love email or dirty email from old flames, just because....yeah, no one wants to read exploits from their wife's or husband's past in detail.

I have access to it, so I could get in if I wanted to. I am guessing I would want to read his emails, just to "hear" his voice again...

We share a computer and leave things logged in all the time. There's nothing exciting in his email.

I know the hubby's pw, but I wouldn't read his emails. I think he communicates mainly via text any how. Plus, the hubby shares everything with me so I don't feel like he's hiding anything from me.

I already have access to his e-mail, but he doesn't really use his e-mail for anything except bills, so it would be pretty boring anyway. His few personal e-mails tend to be to my brother, haha!

We have access to each others email on iPad. I'd read it to make sure there was nothing outstanding. Plus some of our financial accounts are under his email. So I'd need to know which and switch it over and the like...
