If "we could afford it" meant we made like, 600K a year or something, yeah. But just cuz we *could* afford something, doesn't mean it's an expense I'm OK to have. We'd have to be super rich, basically

Basically I think that if we could afford it (like pay for it cash, no financing) then I probably wouldn't have a problem with the purchase per se BUT I would have a problem with him driving it like a maniac, which is really what those kinds of cars are for... (that and making other people jealous, which is just silly)

Something about really flashy cars screams "small penis" to me. I'd like to say no (and I can't imagine being able to afford such a car!) But maybe....

If we could afford it, for sure. He's been harping aboub getting a 'summer car' for a while now. I'm sure at some point down the line we will end up buying a second car for him. He has a car thing and really wants a rear wheel drive something with a big engine and lots of torque.

Probably not, because I'd be afraid he'd get in a wreck and die. If he wanted to, say... buy an old antique car for tons of money that only goes 50 mph... sure!

Nope....well, maybe if we won the lottery. But in all honesty, we'd look like such dorks if we drove that around our city. I think the fanciest car I've seen here is a Porshe.

Ok, I guess if you take 'can afford it' to mean that we had tons of money and nothing better to spend it on then sure. But if it was a matter of trading that for something that could better benefit our entire family, no way. I wouldn't prioritize a big luxury like that either.
