My entire house is a disaster. Not kidding. I need to start somewhere. Help me decide. I'm not going to start until Hellobee tells me to. LOL!

I always feel like my house is clean(ish) if the kitchen is clean! Make me feel accomplished!

I just start at one end and work my way to the other. In my house that means either the kitchen or the master bedroom closet.

I usually start with the living room because it's the biggest room in my house. I save the kitchen for last because I hate doing it!

I can not stand a messy kitchen...but don't get me wrong, mine is a disaster area at the moment.

I always start with the room that people are most likely to see if they come over, so usually the living room!

The kitchen. It's where I spend the most time, so if that's clean, I feel more motivated to move out and clean other areas.

It depends on the layout of the house. We walk through the living room to get to every other room in the house, so as long as that is cleaned/straightened up, then I feel better. The kitchen is always next.

Living room. It's the first room people see, and usually the easiest one to tackle. I usually do the kitchen next!

I always start at the back and work my way forward so first for me is the master bedroom! It's usually easiest too so it's nice to get out of the way.

Our house is pretty open downstairs. I would start with the kitchen, then clean up the eating area, then clean the living room. After that, I would tackle the downstairs bathroom.
If I did all of that, I would probably be exhausted so, I would eat an ice cream cone and watch TV for a while figuring no one goes upstairs other than us anyways.

Bathrooms! I hate it when my bathrooms are dirty. I also hate cleaning them too...so I try to get them over with first. Makes the rest of the house seem less daunting!

I always start with the kitchen and then do the bathrooms. I really feel like everything else is more manageable once I have those rooms done for some reason!

We've got a shotgun shaped condo, so I usually start from the family room and work my way back to the master bedroom.

I always like to start with cleaning the kitchen. Its in the back of the house, and I slowly move junk towards the front, then upstairs to where it will be stored/hidden.
Although.. I make my bed every single day. I find that if the beds are made, everything seems a little less visually cluttered and my sanity can take a little more intact.

We start in the family room quickly followed by the kitchen. The fam room usually just needs to be picked up and fluffed, while the kitchen requires sprays and sponges.

Last night I started with the bathrooms since that was the room most bugging me.

When cleaning my house, I tend to start in the living room. It's where my family spends the majority of their time plus it's the first thing you see when you walk in the door. Next I move on to the living room, kitchen, and if I have time move on to H's room and the bathrooms. Our room is always behind a closed door so I don't worry about it. And my office is doubling as a nursery right now so no one expects it spotless.

Cleaning the kitchen always makes me feel better. Afterwards I tackle the play room, even though LO just turns into Godzilla as soon as he walks in.

I start in the kitchen because when it's clean the rest of the apartment feels manageable. Then the living room, because that's where E and I spend the most time, then our bedroom (because I find I sleep better when the room is clean....it's not a calm, relaxing place if there are piles of clothes everywhere...) then the bathroom (but our bathroom is TINY and super fast to clean).

I always start with the most public areas of the house and move my way to the least public areas. So the kitchen/living room would be first. Then bathrooms, then bedrooms, and so on.

Always start with kitchen, it's usually the biggest undertaking in our house, so once that is picked up the rest seems easy!

*wanting to cry*...Why the kitchen??? I hate the kitchen...*whine*...
Alright, I've stalled long enough. Time to clean.

I always always start with the kitchen. I can't function unless its clean.

Our bathrooms generally seem the least messy, so I start with them. Somehow it's easier when I just have to wipe down surfaces and give them a little scrub, but don't have to make decisions about where to put things. Then, the sparkly clean bathroom gives me incentive to keep going.

I vote kitchen too. It's the only place that will attract bugs and other undesirables if it's unkempt, so it wins every time! (Yeah, I know silverfish like the papers and clothes that accumulate in other areas, but they're not as gross as cockroaches...)

Bathrooms for sure!!! They are small and quick to clean, and they build up momentum so that I'm rolling and ready to go onto the next room. It's all a psychological game to me!

@Rubies: I feel like the kitchen is the worst, that's why it's good to get it over with!

I cannot get anything done if the kitchen is dirty. Since I WAH and usually eat 3 meals a day at home, I cannot have a messy kitchen. Second choice would be the living room since it is the center of our apartment.

I guess the kitchen, but our family room (where all of M's toys are) is a close second.
pomegranate / 3032 posts
The easiest room... for me thats usually our spare room/my closet - tidy the bed, put all my clothes away and vaccum the rug. I skip the office/craft room because thats just a disaster and super easy to just shut the door. then our bedroom again thats a minimal effort to clean, make the bed put away clothes and clear off surfaces and vaccum, do the bathroom and my upstairs is done

I picked living room...since it's the first thing you see when you walk in. Second, I'd say kitchen.
pomelo / 5621 posts
I always start with the bathrooms and then kitchen is second. The rest depends on what needs to be done the most.

Kitchen! Nothing says gross, yucky house to me like a dirty kitchen. I am fanatical about keeping mine clean, even if other parts of the house are sliding.
