I just realized today that our drying rack (one of those grass ones) hasn't been cleaned for a long time. I took it apart, and it was horrible. So much mold in the bottom part. *Related: why would they make a product that DRY your bottles that can't DRY itself?!
I'm currently boiling it in a huge soup pot to sterilize.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who accidentally does stuff like this!

@Mrs. Sunshine: @cmomma17: Same here!! I have EXTREMELY low supply, and I decided to dump the milk (like 6 ounces collected over a few days). I found out later that the milk was probably just fine.

I found mold in Ariel's hair, one of her princess dolls that is a bath toy. So disgusting. Had to get a new one

Yep it's happened, I've found mold on a lot of things, most recently LO's coat.

It happens! I just unpacked our swing to use for baby #2 soon. The cover was disgusting! It looks fine after washing, which makes me even more grossed out that I might have just packed it away with formula puke or something similar on it. Bleh!

@littlejoy: I didn't catch mold growing in a few of my LO's sippy cups where the straw sticks in/around the top area. So gross. I felt like a huge fail when my husband showed it to me. I now have a phobia about most sippy cups, I especially hate ones with straws. And so I buy those disposable sippy cups and just recycle them and then buy more. They're like $3 for 4 I think so we go with those so I don't make the same mistake again:(

I found mold on LO's bath toy holder. I noticed mold on the drying rack too. Occasional clean outs of stuff happens here quite a bit.

somethings I find it on I worry about, others not so much. When she was still chewing on her bath toys, then yes, but now if I see it I just throw it out without a thought.
Our old drying rack definitely had some mold in the corners between washings, but since her bottles and nipples couldn't possibly hit those spots I wasn't too worried, nevertheless, our new rack is a metal one with no where for water to accumulate just in case.

Mold is good for kids! All first line antibiotics were derived from mold, and kids come into contact with thousands upon thousands of mold spores every minute of every day. Don't stress!!

Totally found moldy Dr Browns bottle innards stuffed behind a cabinet one time. Shit happens!

@blackbird: Oh, I'm sure! I just feel bad when there are a ton of different mold cultures growing. Gotta get these feelings of guilt out of the way now, because I'm sure they'll be much worse things!
