I just do not know how to dress anymore. I SAH full time with my 2 kids. Our outings are usually pretty basic grocery store, park, library story time or a friend's house type things. In the past I was a shorts and tshirt or maxi skirt/dresses kind of girl but that just doesn't feel right anymore. I feel sloppy or not appropriate or something. but it's hot here most of the time and I really feel like I'm suffocating in jeans in the warm weather. I really gravitate toward "athleisure" type stuff, especially because I do tend to work out when my girls nap and its just easier not to need to change my clothes a billion times a day. But when I look around online I kind of struggle with feeling like that look is right for me or if I can pull it off. Also, it's expensive. So, SAHM's what's your personal style? Pictures, ideas, commiseration, whatever you got is welcome. I'm tired of feeling blah!

Have you tried maxi dresses? I wear them all the time during the summer here. I also love linen or cotton pants and casual tops for summer.

I really love Athleta's skorts. They're full skirts with shorts underneath in the same color as the skirt. I can sit on the ground, swing on the swings, wear it into a store, museum, restaurant and they are machine washable. I have at least 5 of them!
I couldn't ever make a maxidress work on a playground, all that fabric and I am tripping on it.

@youboots: I have a few maxi skirts/dresses that I really used to love but they were staples through 2 pregnancies and just don't feel right anymore. Maybe I should shop around for some new ones.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I've done all kinds of shoes, that's what's great about the skorts. I typically wear them in warm weather, so it's usually a pair of Birkenstock style sandals or what I call "sneaker flats." They're like ballet slippers made from sneaker material with rubber soles.

I would get new maxi dresses. Those are my staples when the weather is warm. They are so easy to dress up or down.

Leggings and a long, lean t shirt. I really like Old Navy compression leggings, and the tall fit of Old Navy t shirts.

Same situation here: two kids, SAHM. I resisted it for a long time, but I'm now a total convert to athleisure wear. I have a mix of stuff from Old Navy and Gap and I never, ever pay full price for those items since both stores have so many good sales. Occasionally I will splurge. Like, I bought a pair of fleece-lined leggings at Athleta that were $70. However, those pants are like my uniform and I have worn the hell out of them. So cost per wear is not bad at all!

I struggle with this too. Im also still losing pregnancy weight which complicates things further. I almost never wear jeans though- too stiff and confining most days. So for me it's a lot of yoga pants- but it's cold here. I sometimes search Pinterest for idea then put on the same stretched out yoga pants I wore for two pregnancies.

I do leggings with dresses or skirts and a blouse. Jeans and blouses for the park!

I recently came across some leggings with "spanx" (not spanx brand) built in. I think those leggings with a tunic will be my go to look this summer.

Basically exactly what you mentioned, and I'm a SAHM too. Athleisure often. Leggings (plain cotton and more jean-like) and tees during the winter. Shorts and shirts in the summer. I'm still young, why not? When I go back to work in the near future I'm sure I'll have to start dressing differently, but until then forget it.

What about cropped leggings and tunics? Swap tunic for sports bra when working out and add a bracelet or scarf to pull it into an outfit for going out. (Says the mom who owns two pairs of pants and a handful of plain t-shirts that currently fit

I don't like Maxi dresses because I am always tripping on them. I like them in theory though.
I like skirts or dresses for warmer weather, with a tank or t-shirt. I look for slightly fuller skirts I can move easily in. I personally never wear leggings/yoga pants out of the house, no matter how thick they are. I just don't feel dressed! If I was looking for pants vs skirt/dress, I get lighter weight cotton pants and roll up the cuff some (if they are not short). @Mrs. Sunshine: I actually like looking in h&m for cute cheap tops. One of my favorite summer shirts is from there. I have some old ones from Target I need to replace but i have a hard time finding ones with wide enough straps for my liking.
I got my jcrew pants from an online thrift store that sadly shut down. Now I'm not sure where I'll buy pants! I don't like pants being too short but in the summer I can get away with it because rolling then up is kind of in.

My go-to is leggings with a flowy tunic (I wear lots of Free People tops) with cute boots or booties. I will often wear a hat or a statement necklace.
Other favorites are skinny jeans that are distressed/have small holes, sneakers (New Balances or Converse) with a boyfriend T-shirt and either a hoodie or a vest of some sort. I wear lots of vests.I shop at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, H&M, Asos, and TJ Maxx.

I feel like nothing fits me properly, belly pooch sticks out, and hips have become very wide. constantly trying to find styles of things that fit nicely and cleaning out wardrobe at the same time. I don't know what to wear/what suits my body anymore - hubby took a photo of me with girls and I was so embarassed with myself. I didn't look too bad in what I was wearing (blue skinny jeans/black tank/olive tshirt/birks) but I just feel I don't look like myself anymore.
