So, I haven't been too vocal on HB about our recent sleeping situation because I feel a lot of shame about it (whether justified or not). Until DD was 3 months old, she took all her naps in the swing but slept in the PnP in our room at night. She would usually sleep 9-5:30-ish and then I'd nurse her downstairs and put her back to sleep in the swing until she was up for the day.
Well, we moved her bedtime back to 7:30/8 and she started waking up at 12 to eat. I couldn't get her back to sleep in the PnP, so she started sleeping in the swing (which we moved into her room) and has been doing so ever since (she's 5 months now). She was sleeping 11-12 hours straight for about a month, so I did not want to mess with it! Now, for the last month or so, she's been waking 1-3x/night (teething and possibly four month regression), but she's been improving this past week - only one wake up most nights and two nights of totally STTN.
I've been using the Troublesome Tots swing weaning plan, and we are now at the point where she sleeps and naps in an unmoving swing. I never thought we'd get to this point!
Anyhow, given that she's now sleeping without motion, I've decided that tonight's the night to try out the crib for the first time ever. EEK!
I plan to employ Mrs. Blues's/Blackbird's crib "nest" and elevated mattress plan to help ease the transition. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to get her to sleep, since at night we do usually manually rock the swing a little to calm her down. We may need to do CIO. I also have NO idea why I'm going to do after MOTN wake ups to get her back to sleep.......
My DH is away at the moment and my mum is staying with me....she is good at talking me down from the ledge when DD is crying.
Um, yeah. So basically I'm terrified but hoping that it's not too terrible for too long.
I'll update once things are in progress!
