Ah, I've been away from the beloved boards for a while. I passed the bar, got a job, and have been adjusting nicely. DH and I just celebrated our 1yr anniversary. Every time I think about our family plans, I think about the "perfect time" to ttc. We would own our own home, be settled in our career, and have rebuilt our nest egg having spent it on a downpayment. Well, once you add all those years, I'm looking at 10yrs down the road, and may have missed my window of opportunity! I know there is no perfect time, and that you could always have a better car/house/neighborhood/nest egg/etc... How in the world did you decide to just go with it? DH is on board for whenever now that we both are blessed to have good jobs, only debt is my law school loans which we are managing fine, and we are saving money. To buy a home in DC, we will need tons of moohlah, so we will most likely start ttc while in the upgraded brand new high rise apartments we just moved to. There are tons of young families with their strollers strolling around, so that doesn't bother me while the child is young. So, how/when did you decide to just go with it!?!?
