We are getting the City Mini (color still unknown). I was wondering what type of car seat you got if you have a City Mini or just in general? I feel like there are soooo many different types and we can't afford a $300 one but I still want my baby to be safe. Any tips, recommendations, or plain don't buy?

Are you purchasing the car seat adapter? The new one they put out is universal, and fits most if not all carseats. I used the Chicco key fit 30, fwiw!

same! i used the chicco keyfit 30 and was happy with it. i bought the adaptor for the city mini and it was fine.

We got te City Mini in the tan/black combo and a Graco Snugride 22 in platinum. The colors matched perfectly! At the time there were two types of adaptors for the City Mini and we just got the one that worked for our car seat. Getting an infant seat was sort of a last minute decision and we didn't want or have a ton of money left to spend on it since we already purchased a Britax convertible seat (we tossed around using a convertible from birth but ultimately were not comfortable with the idea after we purchased it).

We don't have a city mini.
But the infant seat we have is the safety first on board 35 McKenna. We LOVE it. At 19 lbs, 27" and 14 mos he still fits in the seat great! It's deeper and longer than traditional seats so I love that. It fits into our ford fusion. It feels so sturdy and has the side air impact technology (no evidence that is actually safer but for some reason makes me feel better haha!) and it's a great color- so chic everyone comments on how our seat looks so "uppity". It is $160 I think but with the BRU trade in 25% coupon we paid just over $100 I think. Great value! I love it. And it did fit with our stroller (jeep urban terrain).

We have the Britax B-Safe because it fit in the stroller and was smaller than the Chaperone.

we have the graco snugride 35 with our city mini and it worked great! the adapter is easy to put on and off and i felt he was on there very securely.

We have the chicco keyfit 30 and like it. I don't know that it's soo much better than any of the other ones though---they all need to pass the same safety standards.

You can go right to a convertible seat, if you want, skipping the bucket all together.
I agree with Hilsy85 though, they're all manufactured to meet minumum safety ratings, just like cribs.

We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 and are getting the city select stroller. We'll be buying the adaptor, and it fit just fine in the store!

We have the britax chaperone and it is SO freaking heavy. LO is over 17 lbs at almost 5 months and I can barely life it with him in it.

@scg00387: We have the same seat (in Cowmooflage!) and it's heavy! It's 25 pounds before you load in a LO . . . my biceps aren't looking too shabby though!
ETA: My LO is 16lbs 10oz at 7.5 months.

@MsLipGloss: we have cowmooflage too! We're switching to a convertible soon... I'm only 5'2 and apparently a huge wimp... I literally grunted trying to get him in the target yesterday!!

@scg00387: You're not a wimp! I'm 5'7" and it's a lot of seat for me to manage . . . I grunt when I am lifting the seat into the car.
Oh, and I *always* keep my stroller frame in the car (we have a B-Ready) so that I can just snap that sucker in right away. Either that, or, if I don't think I can get my stroller where we are going, I put LO in my Beco Gemini carrier. The seat is too heavy for *long* distances . . . like parking lots!

I have the Chicco Keyfit 30 magic. The "magic" version has better shaped infant inserts inside and a much larger shade. I only use it with the city mini and I'm really happy with everything.

We will be getting the City Mini and we have a Chicco Keyfit Magic. We will be getting the adaptor to go with it.

i have the city mini and use a chicco keyfit (not the 30, the smaller one) with it. we bought the special chicco adapter to go with it.
i think a regular graco with the universal adapter would be fine, too!

We are getting a green City Mini and black Britax B Safe infant carseat. I bought the adaptor especially for the B Safe with the City Mini because it's cheaper than the universal adaptor. Baby comes in June so I haven't used any of it yet!

We got the chicco keyfit (not with a city mini). Our stroller is all black and our chicco carseat is in elm (one of their new green colors).
